Mrs. Major York died on the 5th of this month, leaving a husband and five little children bereft of a mother’s loving tender care. We deeply sympathize with them. [Burial place unknown.]

J. J. Richardson was indicted for the murder of Sandy Young and gave bond for $1000 with Emil Appelt, T. H. Miller and R. B. Miller as sureties.

MRS. H. C. YOUNGKIN

Yoakum Weekly Herald, January 20, 1910

The remains of' Mrs. Youngkin, who died yesterday morning at her home in Hallettsville arrived in the city this afternoon on the 1:40 train and were conveyed to the City cemetery, followed by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends to pay their last sad tribute of respect to this noble and estimable lady. She was consigned to mother earth by the side of her late husband, H.C. Youngkin, who had gone to his reward only a few months previously. The Herald extends its heartfelt sympathy and condolence to her two sons, Drs. John and Si, and her relatives and many friends in their loss of mother, relative and friend. Words can only suffice when we say, "She has gone to her home in heaven, where there is no sadness, nor sorrow, sickness nor pain."

MARIE MARALIK YUREK

San Antonio Express, Thursday, August 10, 1950

YOAKUM—Mrs. Marie Yurek, pioneer citizen of this section and a native of Austria, died at Gatesville Friday. Burial was in St. Ann's Cemetery in Yoakum Monday with services in St. Ann's Church with Msgr. Pustka officiating. Mrs. Yurek was 90 years old. One daughter, Mrs. V. Kucera, of Houston, survives.

Marie's surname is spelled Jurek on her tombstone. Contributed by Roland Beausoleil
