Bellville Times
November 1910
Mr. Ferdinand Reinecker died on the 27th of November 1910 near
Bellville. He was born in Fischausen near Koenigsberg East Prussia,
April 2nd, 1823.
In 1859 he came to Austin county Texas and lived here as a highly
respected citizen until his death.
He was married to his sorrowing widow, nee Netzel, about 60 years
ago. The union was blessed with sixteen children of whom five
preceeded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his death his widow, five sons and six daughters;
fifty-five grandchildren and thirty greatgrandchildren and one
sister and a host of friends.
He was an honorary member of the Concordia Gesangverein; one of the
charter members.
The immediate cause of his death was an injury caused by a viscious
cow which he sustained some weeks ago.
His body was laid to rest in Pilgrims Rest cemetery on the 28th
inst, a large concourse of relatives and friends doing him the last
honors. Rev. J.G. Mueller conducted the funeral service at the home
and the grave. The Gesangverein Concordia sang two appropriate
songs at the grave.
So the old settlers of Austin county go one by one into eternity.
His was a life well spent as a citizen, husband and father, his
prosterity counts up to 90 in all. The Lord comfort his widow and
children.
