Mr. Foehner Funeral Rites
Benno Foehner Sr., brother of Mrs. F. C. Roensch of Bellville, died at Winslow, Arizona Sunday June 6, after
an extended illness. He was 77 years of age.
Mr. Foehner was a son of the late B. O. and Mary Foehner and was born in Bellville May 24, 1899. He attended
the Bellville Schools and will be well remembered by many Bellville friends as an outstanding, left handed shortstop on the Bellville ”town team.”
He was married to Miss Zoe Ellen Bartay February 29, 1920 in Bellville. Mr. Foehner was a retired
Santa Fe clerk and was a member of the Baptist Church. He was reared in Bellville. Among his many hobbies
were hunting and fishing, sports in which Mr. and Mrs. Roensch joined him many times after his moving to Arizona.
Funeral rites were held at Winslow Tuesday, June 8.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, George A. Foehner of Winslow and Benno Foehner Jr. of Phoenix; two sisters, Mrs. F. C. Roensch of Bellville and Miss
Lenora Foehner of Austin, eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a nephew, Eugene Foehner of Bay City, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leon and Isador Foehner.
