Booth

Robert Lippincott Booth, V.M.D. of Bellville, Texas and Middleburg,
Virginia, age 97, died Jan. 13, 2005 in Bellville after a long illness. He
was a native of Plainfield, NJ and practiced veterinary medicine in Loudoun
County, Virginia for 44 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Creighton Booth; a son, David Booth,
D.V.M. of Westminister, Md.; a sister and a brother.
He leaves behind Penny Pearson; a son, Creighton Booth of Bethlehem, Penn.;
a daughter, Susan Houle of Danville, Vt.; eight grand children; and two
great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of The George School, Swarthmore College and the
University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He was the third
of five generations of his family to graduate from Swarthmore College.
In 1975 the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA) named him
Virginia Veterinarian of the Year at their annual convention. From 1954 to
1956 he was president of the VVMA and from 1956 to 1966 was on the Virginia
Board of Examiners, serving as president 1965 to 1966.
Dr. Booth has been the veterinary instructor at Morven Park International
Equestrian Institute and an associate professor at Lord Fairfax Community
College.
A member of the Goose Creek Friends' Meeting of Hamilton, Va., Bob turned to
boat building and wood working after his retirement from veterinary medicine
at age 72.
The family wishes to express gratitude to his excellent caretakers Gloria
Walker, Alberta Cummings, Nancy Hubert, Dorothy Hill and Loretta Harris.
