Funeral services for Amandus Elo Brast, 84, of Bellville, were held on Wednesday, April 13, from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Milroy Gregor officiating. Interment was in the Brast Cemetery near Bellville. Amandus was the son of Max and Anna (Krueger) Brast and was born in Bellville, September 10, 1920. He was raised in Bellville and attended Oak Ridge School near the current site of Hwy 36 and Koy Road. Amandus was baptized on August 13, 1922 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg, Colorado County, Texas by the Rev. Otto L. Lindenberg. Mr. Amandus Brast was married to Tillie Mozola. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher, who in his later years enjoyed work as a security guard for Moore-Tex Concrete in Sealy. He enjoyed raising animals and held a distinct passion for Polka Music. He liked to fish and hunt. He dedicated his life to hard work. Amandus Elo Brast passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005 in Fort Worth, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Tillie Brast of Fort Worth, son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Yvonne Brast of Fort Worth, daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Randy Lange of Sealy, grandson, Everette Lange of Sealy and neighbor and relative, Harry Brast. Preceded in death by his parents, Max and Anna (Krueger) Brast, stepbrothers, Walter and Lester Brast and stepsister, Lillie Kulow. Amandus will be missed by his family who cared for him through Alzheimer's disease and cherished his life. Funeral Arrangements under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapel.
