Brokmeyer Bruce Allen Brokmeyer, 54, of Brenham, formerly of New Ulm, died Friday morning at the family residence. Mr. Brokmeyer was born March 16, 1951, in Columbus, Texas, to Isadore A. and Doris Marie Haverlah Brokmeyer. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at St. Johnıs Lutheran Church in New Ulm, Texas. On Feb. 4, 1994, he was married to Susan Lynn Simonson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg, Texas. Bruce was a professional sawyer, specializing in cedar lumber. He loved to create and build anything out of wood and was considered a highly skilled specialist in his field. Being an avid outdoorsman, he loved to spend time camping. He enjoyed caring for his animals, especially his pigs and horses. Most of all, he loved watching his grandchildren grow and play. They were his pride and joy. Bruce is survived by his wife, Susan Reasoner Brokmeyer of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law Kley and Tammy Brokmeyer of Fayetteville, Cody and Gail Brokmeyer of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Russell and Katherine Simonson of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law Stacy and Lloyd ³T² Saunders of Brenham; brothers and sisters-in-law James and Fran Brokmeyer of Katy, Donald and Dawn Brokmeyer of New Ulm and Randy and Charlotte Brokmeyer of Terrell, Texas; sister and brother-in-law Robin and Terrell Maertz of Alleyton; grandmother Mary Haverlah Klatt of Brenham; grandchildren Matthew Simonson, Luke Simonson, Ethan Simonson, Tucker Saunders and Eli Saunders. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Wyatt Walker Saunders. A memorial service will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing after the memorial service, Pastor Larry Cooke will officiate.
