Danna
Lorine Annette Lampe Danna, "Nan-Na", 88, past away peacefully and gently
during the early morning hours  of June 24, 2005 surrounded by family.
She was born in Marlin, Texas on Oct. 23, 1916. She was preceded in death by
her beloved husband of 60 years, Carmelo L. Danna, her parents Romeo and
Johanna Lampe of  Bellville, and only brother, R.E. Lampe of Beaumont.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Alderman and husband Mike of
Houston; Nancy Smith and husband Rick of Plymouth, Mich.; her son, Carmelo
L. "Sonny" D'Anna and wife Cheryl, of Aspen, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 13
great grandchildren; sister Dorothy Zapalac and husband Willie of Austin;
brother-in-law Joe Danna and wife Sue of Sunrise Beach, Texas; sister-in law
Wayden Lampe, of Beaumont; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mrs. Danna moved to Houston after graduation from high school in Bellville.
She later became a Registered Nurse receiving her degree from St. Joseph's
Hospital School of Nursing in 1939 and met her beloved husband, Carmelo,
while caring for him after a serious accident.
Mrs. Danna was a Charter Member of the Lynn Park Garden Club.
Our Mom and Nan-na was the best. She met challenge with determination, hard
times with perseverance, tribulation with grace, and returned more love than
she received.
She was tender, loving , smart and as her husband Carmelo said, "She's an
amazing woman."
She will be dearly missed and the empty space she leaves in all our lives
will never be filled.
The family received friends and relatives at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2005
at Earthman Fannin Chapel, 2420 Fannin, Houston. Funeral service was at 11
a.m., Monday, June 27, in the Chapel at St. John the Episcopal Church, 2450
River Blvd., Houston with the Rev. Doug Richnow celebrant.
Rite of committal followed the funeral at Forest Park Cemetery at Westheimer
Road and Dairy Ashford. Pallbearers were Malcolm Baker III, Scott Brinkley,
Will D'Anna, Trey D'Anna, Craig Ribbeck, Jeff Zapalac and Bill Zapalac.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the
National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
