Flores Homero Vega Flores was born June 22, 1984 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The son of Alvaro Vega and Martha Flores, he grew up and attended school in San Luis Potosi. At the age of 18, he moved to Brenham with his father and two brothers to work. He was employed as a ranch hand at Byler Performance Equine in Bellville. A very popular young man, Homero enjoyed music, rodeos and horses and his Chevy pickup, "La Paloma." He passed away suddenly Monday, July 25 in Somerville at the age of 21. He is survived by his Mother: Martha Flores; and father: Alvaro Vega; both of Santa Maria del Rio, San Luis Potosi, Mexico; sister: Maria Normal Vega Flores; brothers: Alvaro de Jesus Vega Flores, Jorge Luis Vega Flores and Manases Vega Flores; all of Santa Maria del Rio, San Luis Potosi, Mexico; and many other dear friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Matias and Socorro Flores, and Saleta Segura. Visitation was held Friday, July 29 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville where Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. by the Vega family. Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, July 30th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brenham with the Rev. Father Miguel Duarte, celebrating. Burial following in Calvary Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers were Alvaro de Jesus Vega Flores, Jore' Luis Vega flores, Manases Vega Flores, Victor Hugo Jaime Vega, Gabriel Jaime Vega and Jose Luis Vega.
