Funeral services for Sarah Bell Nations, 51, of Houston and Bellville, were held Saturda, November 26 at 11 a.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Rick Chandler officiating. A beloved wife and mother Mrs. Nations died Tuesday, November 22, in Houston, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Interment was in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery near Bellville. Serving as pallbeares were Mike Oates, Pat Siddons, Bill Bell, George Nations, and Roy and Cliff Morrow. Born in Shiner, Texas, Sarah Ann Bell was the daughter of Basil Bernard Bell and Mary Siddons Bell. She was raised in Cuero, Victoria and Houston, where she was an honors graduate of Spring Woods High School and Hill County Jr. College. Sarah graduated in 1977, Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University School of Business and Finance. On April 4, 1981, Sarah and Mr. Robert Andrew "Andy" Nations were married. She worked at several Houston banks through the years. In 1998 Sarah joined Oppenheimer & Co. as a broker and financial advisor. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Houston. A true "Texas Lady," Sarah loved the land and her horses, but her lifelong devotion was to her family. She is survived by: her husband of 24 years, Andy Nations and their children Amie, Victoria and Jared Nations, all of Houston; one sister: Elizabeth Oates, husband Mike and family of Fullerton California; one brother: William "Bill" Bell and family of Houston; mother-in-law: Naomi Nations of Spring; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mike and Judy Grangerland, George Jr. and Marie of Waller, Cathy and Mike of Spring, the Siddons and McDonald familie of Hillsboro, TX; as well as a number of other relatives and her "Second Mother," Edna Daughtery and family of Houston.
