William "Bill" Everett O'Connor, age 65, of Brenham passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005 at his home. Bill was born Nov. 30, 1939 in Osborne, Kansas to Elvin and Opal Broox Maupin O'Connor. He was baptized in 1949 at the First Christian Church in Osborne, Kansas. He was a graduate of Osborne High School. On Dec. 18, 1959, he was married to Irene Ann McNerney. Bill was retired from the Washington County Road and Bridge Department. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, woodworker, and gardener. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, who called him "Papa Bill." He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eldora Becker; brothers, Ora J. O'Connor and Robert O'Connor; and granddaughter, Emily O'Connor. Survivors include: his wife Irene Ann O'Connor of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Lori O'Connor of Bleiblerville, James and Susan O'Connor of Brenham; grandchildren Lane, Logan, Landon, Patrick and Nicholas O'Connor; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Don Ayres of Brenham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Allen and Marlene McNerney of Manhattan, Kansas; nephews and nieces, Wylie and Sissy Bass, Don and Dani Sue Ayres, Victor McNerney, Curtis and Annie Wolfe and several great nieces and nephews. The family received friends Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005 from 5-7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005 at 10 a.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gary Jeter officiating. Burial followed in National Cemetery in Bleiblerville. Pallbearers were Wylie Bass, Jud Bass, Douglas Bass, Elmer Marburger, Richard Forst, and Woodrow Free. Memorials may be given to First Christian Church, 306 Cottonwood, Brenham, Texas 77833. Funeral services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel in Brenham. Posted by Joy Neely
