Mabel Merle Peoples was born July 15, 1917 in the Heights in Houston, Texas,
to parents Evander and Minnie Belle Hair Sikes.
On September 15, 1933, Mabel was united in marriage with Floyd Lee Peoples
Sr. in Houston. they made their home in the Heights until Floyd preceded
Mabel in death in 1979.
Mabel then moved to Bellville where she has made her home  since that time.
A member of Lindale Assembly of God Church in Houston, Mabel loved spending
time with her family.
She passed away Thursday, May 12 in Bellville at the age of 87.
She is survived by her daughter Merlene Byler and husband W.T. of Bellville;
grandchildren Roy Peoples Jr. of Houston, Lisa Binford, Reesa Ueckert and
husband, Randy, Bill Byler and wife Kerri, Beth Keaton and husband Todd Lee,
Jesse Byler and wife, Kimmi, all of Bellville; great grandchildren: Terri,
Kara and Kate Ueckert, Brenna, Lynette and Will Byler, Tory Lee and Kary Ann
Keaton, Jayci and Blaze Byler, Carrie, Chelsea and Carson Binford, all of
Bellville, and Kyle and Holli Peoples of Houston; daughter-in-law Carolynne
Peoples; and many other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd Lee Peoples, Sr.,
and her sons, Floyd Lee Peoples, Jr. and Roy Edward Peoples, Sr. Also
preceding her in death were 4 brothers, 3 sisters including her twin, Marie
Zarnow.
Funeral Service was held May 14 at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Larry Welsh officiating. Interment followed at the Rosewood Cemetery in
Humble at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Randy Meeks officiating. Pallbearers: Roy
Peoples, Jr., Randy Ueckert, Bill Byler, Todd Lee Keaton, Jesse Byler and
Kyle Peoples.
The family requests that in lieu of usual remembrances that friends who wish
to honor Mrs. Peoples' desire for the availability of a Christian education
for all children. Donations may be made in her name to Faith Academy of
Bellville, 12177 Highway 36 S., Bellville, Texas 77418.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Schmidt Funeral
