Funeral services for Donna Beth Brubaker were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby with the Pastor Pamela Werrell officiating. She died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at her Bellville home. She was 47. Brubaker was born January 8, 1959 in La Grange, the daughter of Weldon and Perlie Heins Klaus. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby on March 22, 1959. On October 28, 1974 she was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rosenberg. Donna grew up and attended school in Sugar Land. After graduating from Dulles High School in 19778 she attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville where she met Dan Brubaker. They were united in marriage on July 8, 1978 in Sugar Land and made their home in Pattison. Donna has made her home in Bellville since 1994. She had been employed at Bellville Junior High and then at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home where she enjoyed spending time with her grandfather, Roy Klaus. After her three children were grown, Donna decided to pursue her dreams of becoming an elementary school teacher. She was currently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University and had recently made the Dean's List. She enjoyed reading, art, watching movies, late nights playing dominoes with Jacob and his friends, and other games. A loving mother, daughter and sister, Brubaker leaves behind her parents: Weldon and Perlie Klaus of Round Top; children: Joshua Brubaker and wife, Jennifer of Pattison; Jacob Brubaker of San Marcos; and Sarah Brubaker and her friend Jonny Witt, of Bellville; sisters: Kamala Kitzman and husband, Robert of Brenham; and Jill Kitzman and husband, Kenneth, of Maryland. Also surviving donna are seven nephews, two nieces, several uncles, aunts and cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Roy and Elvira Klaus and Eton and Lena Heins.
