Valora Johanna Francesca Albers Engelbrecht, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 2, 2006. She was born on September 24, 1922, in Walhalla, TX, to Herbert and Lydia Albers. Mrs. Engelbrecht married Leonard William Engelbrecht on June 15, 1940 and together they raised five children in the Heights neighborhood of Houston. She and her husband moved to Cat Spring in 2001 where they lived out their last years enjoying family, friends, and life in the country. While in Cat Spring she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was an avid bird watcher, gardener, and animal lover. Mrs. Engelbrecht was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Leonard W. Engelbrecht St. and her daughter Joyce Ann Brock. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Jr. and Cynthia Engelbrecht of Tomball, son-in-law Colin Brock of Cat Spring, and sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Paula Engelbrecht of Magnolia, Richard Engelbrecht of Cat Spring, and Bryan and Catherine Engelbrecht of Richmond; 8 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister Vesterine Thompson of Houston, brother and sister-in-law Welton and Sue Albers of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, December 5 at Cat Spring Cemetery. Arrangements by Heights Funeral Home. Posted by Joy Neely
