Zellie Hysmith Raborn was born March 28, 1922 in Galveston, the daughter of Dennis and Ardella Baker Hysmith. She grew up and attended school in Galveston. After her mother's death, she spent several years in a Galveston orphanage, and as a result, she always had a soft spot for children. She later welcomed several foster children into her home. Zellie was employed as a Pharmaceutical Technition at the Alta Loma Drug Store in Alta Loma, Texas for 28 years. A devoted mother and grandmother, she treasured the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Known to everyone as "MiMah," she made the best desserts and pies, especially banana pudding. A member of the Aldersgate Methodist Church in Santa Fe, Texas, Zellie has made her home in Bellville for the past 25 years where she enjoyed her Community Bible Study Classes, and attended Christian Faith Church with her family. She passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006 in Katy at the age of 84. She is survived by her son Dudley Hunt and his wife, Cheryl, of Bellville; grandchildren Eugene Hunt of Bryan and Sonia Froehlich and her husband, William, of Bellville; granddaughter-in-law Ellie Hunt of Katy; great grandchildren Jeremy, Whitney, Jared, Jacob, Casey, Abigail and Anna; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. The funeral service was help at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville, Texas. Pastor Lynn Burling was officiating. The graveside service was help at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Hayes Grace Memorial Park in Sante Fe, Texas. Pallbearers were Jared McCarty, Jacob Hunt, Dennis Quebe, Wade Hunt, Wylie Bass, Zachery Johnson, and John Quebe. The reception and lunch was served at the Christian Faith Church following the funeral service. Funeral services were held at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville, Texas. Posted by Joy Neely
