Mrs. Adella “Zettel” Cook, 93, of Navasota, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Sherwood Health Care Center in Bryan.  Visitation was held Sunday, February 22 from 12:00 – 3:00 pm, and funeral services were held at 10:00 am Monday, February 23 at Nobles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C. McAllister “Mac” Vaughn officiating.  Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery.  

Adella was born June 16, 1915 in Nelsonville, TX to William and Louise (Shupak) Zettel.  She married Lloyd Cook in Hempstead on January 12, 1935.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Annie Schomburg and an infant sister; brothers, Ladislav Zettel, Alvin Zettel, Bill Zettel, Franklin Zettel, Jessie Zettel and August Zettel; and special niece, Doris “Jeanne” Brown.

Mrs. Cook is survived by her son-in-law, Oscar Schomburg of Bellville; sisters-in-law, Bernice Zettel of Bellville and Helen Zettel of Sealy.

Serving as pallbearers were Charlie Burzynski of Stoneham, Gary Poret of Conroe,  Coy Poret of Cypress, Billy Berry of Bryan,  Tommy Imhoff of College Station, Hal Imhoff  of Navasota, David Hemann of Navasota and Chris Ballentine of College Station.
