Funeral services for Bernice Lucile Schroeder Fuchs Cooley, 71, of Sealy were held Saturday, Feb. 21,
2009 from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy with the Rev. Dale Leland officiating. Interment was in the Sealy Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne Schroeder, Billy Filip, Patrick Jaloway, Johnny Brzozowski, John Smitt, Milton
Schmitt, Don Raabe, John Dyer, Michael Orsak and Kirk Brast. Honorary Pallbearers were Ronnie Glover, Tony Woodard and Edward McCrumb.
Bernice Lucile Schroeder was born in Bellville to parents, Erwin and Martha (Teichmann) Schroeder and was
raised in Burliegh and attended Bellville and Piney schools.
Bernice passed away in a Katy hospital on Feb. 19, 2009.
She was a Lutheran by Faith.
Bernice was a loving mom and grannie. She took wonderful care of her daughter, Debra and her
granddaughter, Rachel.
Bernice was married to Raymond Fuchs on April 30, 1954 and after his death to Clay Cooley on June 23,
1984.
Growing up her nickname was “Bouncie”. She was always smiling and happy.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a great cook and loved to have everyone over
to share her meals and desserts.
Over the years she worked in Sealy at Mason’s Korner, which became Tony’s, she later owned and
operated Bernic’s City Cafe and recently worked at Hinze’s BBQ. She enjoyed being with the people she worked with and all the people that came in to eat each
day. She always had a smile and everyone she met was a friend.
She loved planting flowers and always had beautiful roses and other flowering plants in her yard. She
always enjoyed feeding and watching hummingbirds with her family. She loved animals, especially her dogs and spending time with her grand-daughter each day.
Bernice is survived by her daughter, Debra Krisulevicz of Katy, granddaughter, Rachel Nicole Gasson of
Katy, sister, Irene Filip and husband Bobby of Wallis, brothers Melvin Schroeder and wife Cathy of Sealy, brother-in-law, J.W. Schmitt of Sealy and a number of
cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Martha Schroeder, husbands, Raymond Fuchs and Clay
