Bellville Times
Mary Anne (Fister) Cramer was born in Paris, Kent., July 31, 1932.
The daughter of Herbert and Mary (Walsh) Fister, she was baptized August 28, 1932, at St. Paul’s Church in
Lexington, Kent. by Father Libert de Wagenere.
She grew up on a farm in Blue Grass country and was raised around thoroughbred horses in Fayette County, Kent.
After graduating from Bourbon County High, Mary Anne fell in love with Harry S. Cramer of Lexington, Kent. They
were married Feb. 8, 1952, and started their family.
Harry’s occupation as a salesman would take them to many different states before they settled in Houston in the
mid-70’s.
Before Harry’s death on Aug. 4, 1997, it was their dream to retire in Bellville. Mary Anne finally fulfilled
that dream in 2004 when she built a country home near the family cemetery, Via Dolorosa Cemetery.
Mary Anne’s years in Bellville were active with the Catholic Church, Sts. Peter and Paul Council of Catholic
Women, the church choir and Young at Heart, which she definitely was. She had enjoyed traveling with Harry via road trips, tours and cruising, and she continued
to enjoy life with her many friends. She also enjoyed visiting classic car shows and dearly loved her cats. Mary Anne never met a stranger. With her bubbly
personality, she always had such an impact on people from their first encounter that she was always remembered.
She passed away suddenly July 6, 2009, at her home in Cat Spring at the age of 76. She is survived by her son and
daughter in law, D.J. and Camille Cramer of Cat Spring, her cat, Wiley, and many, many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The memorial service was at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with
Father Tim Bucek, officiating.
Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to either: Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, CCW, or to the Building
