Bellville Times
Winston W. Lamp was born Aug. 28, 1925 in Bellville.
He went to join the Lord in Heaven on March 12.
He graduated from Bellville High School where he played on the Brahmas football team.
Winston served in WWII in the Pacific Theater where he fought in the Okinawa beach invasion. He was
awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He remained in the Army Reserve.
He worked for Sears in Roofing and Installations department for 28 years where he retired as
Territorial Installations Manager.
He served as Commander of the Tomball VFW Post and was honored as All-American Commander. He
enjoyed working with students and presented numerous VFW scholarships. He was a member of the Needham Road Baptist Church.
He was preceeded in death by his parents Fritz Jr. and Annie Lamp.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Girthal; his daughter Joy Beth Howell; granddaughters; and
