Sitzman
Funeral services for Gary Sitzman were held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 10 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church in Sealy with the Rev. Eric Pitre celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal.
Processional Cross Bearers, Trevor Blankenship, Stacey Fleming, Brandon Swearingen and Taylor Swearingen.
Eucharistic Minister, Beth Goeltz. Readers, Mike Sitzman, Jr., Greg Sitzman, Trevor Blankenship, and Mike Sitzman, Sr. Interment was
held in the Millheim Cemetery . Pallbearers were Chad Swearingen, Michael Wykoff, Nathan O’Reilly, Jeff Thomas, Seth Thomas, Scott Sitzman, Mark Sitzman and
Chris Sitzman.
Gary Wayne Sitzman was born in Evansville, Ind. The son of Wilburn and Rosedith Sitzman, he grew up and attended
school in Evansville.
He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evansville. Gary attended St. Meinrad Seminary
then graduated from Memorial High School in Indiana. He went on to graduate from University of Evansville in 1964.
He was united in Marriage to Julie Anne Woodward. They made their home in Cat Spring, were Gary‘s favorite past
time was to rebuild his vintage Mustangs. He also enjoyed golfing and playing his guitar and singing for family and friends. Also Gary loved to partake in any of
his grandchildren’s hobbies including dance (he helped build various props).
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy.
He began his professional career with Ford Motor Company. He held various titles throughout his years with
Ford and retired in 1996 as Manager of Tech. Planning.
Gary passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 in Cat Spring at the age of 67.
Gary is survived by his wife, Julie Sitzman, his daughters Laura Swearingen and her husband Chad Swearingen of
Sealy, Jennifer Wykoff and her husband Mike Wykoff from Michigan. Stepchildren Nathan, Katie and Kirsten O’Reilly and Mother-in-law Mary Woodward from Michigan.
Brothers Mike Sitzman and wife Betty, Greg Sitzman and wife Vicki, sister Debbie Thomas all of Indiana. He is also survived by his grandchildren Trevor
Blankenship, Stacey Fleming, Brandon and Taylor Swearingen, many nieces and nephews from Indiana, and many friends.
He is preceded in dearth by his parents.
