Austin County Military 

This section would more accurately be named 

PATRIOTS

 because not all those included on these pages were in the military services.  

We hope this page will be important to you for many reasons.  There is genealogical information such as names and dates of birth and residence during the time spans shown.  More importantly, this page is just the beginning of an internet memorial to the patriotic citizens of Austin County, Texas who have responded to the calls of their nation.   Some responded by registering for the draft.  Many gave weeks, months, years of service.   Many suffered and many gave body parts or lives.   We must never forget their sacrifices.  Please help us to include all the veterans and other patriots  of Austin County.

 We have a lot of names  for Other Veterans and do not know if they served during a specific war.  We will add them soon as "Other Veterans."   If you have information for  Veterans that should be included under our categories, please let us know.  Also give us your source:  ie. "Family" "Your Name", Url for Web Site, etc.   Keep the source  information brief so it will  fit into our little boxes.
