Seeking information on the birth parents and relatives of HERMAN
JOHLE, who was born in Germany in October of 1870. His father's name is
unknown, as well as his mother's maiden name. Being a child of a large
family, HERMAN was sent to live with relatives in Texas after his father
died. At the young age of eight or nine, his mother "MARY" sent him as
a stowaway aboard a freighter, which left from Hamburg, Germany around
1879. Later in life, HERMAN provided the ship passenger fare, from Germany
to America, for his mother to visit him on a yearly basis. Her last known
visit was at the age of 92, around the year 1926. Any available information
will be greatly appreciated.
