The purpose of the organization is educational: to provide and maintain an organization for the study of historical and genealogical records, to collect and preserve these records in accordance with good archival practices, and to make them available for research in the Historical Research Center (HRC), Luling Public Library.


Luling Library hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10 AM-5 PM
Tuesday, Thursday 12 Noon-8 PM
Saturday 10 to 1
Volunteers are on duty to assist daily.

Volunteers will do quick look-ups in response to email and postal requests as time permits.

The Caldwell County books/holdings are listed here. The HRC also has a large number of non-Caldwell County records, books, and quarterlies on the shelves for public use. Microfilm of Texas Census, Lockhart newspaper, and available Luling newspapers are held for use of the public.

Surname (family) books in the Research Center are listed here.

Queries are answered as time permits.
Extensive research must be referred to an outside researcher, and a list can be provided.

Single, $20; Couple, $25; Friend of the Library, $35; Sponsor, $50; Patron, $100
Last three categories have name printed in the Plum Creek Almanac.

We do not sell advertising space, however we accept and review books.

The award-winning Plum Creek Almanac has been published twice a year since 1983.
A copy of every issue is on the shelf in the Historical Research Center.
PCA Locations will help you locate other sources of back issues of the journal.

Subscription to the PCA is included in membership dues.

Material is solicited for the vertical files and possible inclusion in the PCA from anyone with interest in Caldwell County, and in the area which covered DeWitt's Colony. Other materials are welcome, and will be added as space permits.

Deadline for copy for the Spring issue is February 1st; Fall issue deadline is July 1st.
