BOBI JEAN MOORE
Memorial service for Bobie Jean Moore, 51, of Jacksonville was at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2008 in Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. R.S. Dyess officiating.
Mrs. Moore died March 23. She was born April 20, 1956, in Hardin to Bob and Audrey Arnold Fore. She was a resident of Rusk for 18 years and formerly lived in Austin.
She was formerly employed at Skeeter's Shamrock and J&P Quick Stop in Rusk as a sales clerk.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Audrey Fore; a son, William Chase Bishop; and a sister, Linda Darlene Fore.
Survivors are her father, Bob Fore of Rye; two daughters, Laura Sides of Jacksonville and Crystal Dominy of Rusk; a son, Jason Moore of Rusk; step children, Chris Moore and, Robyn Martin, both of Pollock; special friend, Vincent Logan of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Travis Fore of Hardin and Jimmy Fore of Hondo.
ELSIE DEE JOHNSON
Funeral for Elsie Dee Johnson, 86, of Rusk, was at 10 a.m. Friday in the Oakland Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. R.S. Dyess and the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson died March 25. She was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Cherokee County to Frederick William and Alva Jane Sides Jones. She was a lifelong county resident and a member of the Oakland Missionary Baptist Church. She was a seamstress.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Ray Johnson; a son, Jessie Ray Johnson; and her parents.
Survivors are two daughters, Shirley Ann Wink of Rusk and Bobbie McDonald of Dayton; a brother, Charles Jones of Rusk; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dean Simpson, Jackie Simpson, James Ray Jones, Ronnie Jones, Lance Richardson, Zack Richardson, Cole Richardson and Brandon Richardson. Arrangements were under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home.
RAYE G. ALLEN SR.
Graveside service for Raye G. Allen Sr., 84, of Jacksonville, was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Henry Cemetery at Gallatin with Al Parr officiating.
Mr. Allen died March 29. He was born May 19, 1923, in Jacksonville to Edgar Demoss Allen and Pearlie Louise Allen. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Edgar W. Allen and a sister, Louise Ray.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Jean Allen of Jacksonville; a son and daughter-in law, Raye G. Jr. and Pamela Allen of Gallatin; a daughter, Lori Jean McClosky of Rusk; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert K and June Allen of Norman, Okla., Francis L. Allen and Earle L. and Bonnie Allen, all of Jacksonville; a brother in law and wife, Douglas and Betty Cotton of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Brian McClosky, Crystal McClosky and Laura McClosky, all of Rusk, Kent Doss of Jacksonville and Jana Worley and husband, Tim of Bullard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers were Brian McClosky, Kent Doss, Troy Allen, Jim Harper, Deaton Goff, Russell Stafford, Justin Yeley, Jamie Oliver and E.N. (Pete) Young.
Honorary pallbearers were care givers from Jacksonville Health Care Center and Hospice of East Texas.

CATHERINE BARKSDALE DAVENPORT
Funeral for Catherine Barksdale Davenport, 90, of Jacksonville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at the First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. Burial will follow at Meador Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Davenport died Sunday. She was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Glenmora, La. to William Eli Barksdale and Bruna Harris Barksdale. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville and was a retired registered nurse.
Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by husband, Dr. Harbert Davenport; and a son, Chuck Davenport.
Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Alice Davenport of Macomb, Ill., John and Donna Davenport of Rockwall and Dr. Paul Davenport of Jacksonville; a sister and brother-in-law, Gustava and Howard Cleland of Jackson, Miss.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Davenport, Steven Davenport, David Davenport, Hugh Goodpasture, Bob Adamson and Larry McCarroll.

EDWARD CHARLES (E.C.) MORRIS
Funeral for Edward Charles (E.C.) Morris, 75, of Cherokee County, will be at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Greenie Phillips officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery at Ponta.
Mr. Morris died March 26. He was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Rusk County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tillman Morris and attended New Summerfield schools. He was a contractor for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Pine Hill CME Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Morris.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Edward Norris and Baretta King; six daughters, Sharon Phillips, Patricia Morris, Regina Avant, Melinda Morris and Carla Morris, all of Rusk, and Doris Bell Morris of Tyler; two brothers, Ralph Morris of Dallas and Melvin Morris of Long Beach, Calif.; and two sisters, Virgie Mae Marshall and Lela Faye Lyles, both of Long Beach, Calif.

OLETA BYERS
Funeral for Oleta Byers, 86, of Oakland will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, in Oakland Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. R.S. Dyess officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Byers died April 6. She was born Oct. 25, 1921, to Harrison and Minnie Butler Yarborough. She was a resident of Oakland for 30 years and a member of Oakland Missionary Baptist Church.
She previously owned and operated Oleta's Beauty Salon in La Porte for many years. She had also worked for various beauty salons in the Rusk area. Mrs. Byers was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rusk/Alto Chapter #79. She was past worthy matron in the Rusk chapter as well as in La Porte. She received her certificate and 50 year pin as a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, M.E. Byers of Oakland; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Shawn Dean of Oakland; grandson, Clint Salyer of Oakland; granddaughter, Kayla Dean of Oakland; and great-grandson, Dustin Roy Salyer of Oakland. Pallbearers will be Wade Odom, Mark Odom, Michael See, Dustin Roy Salyer, Timothy Roach, Ken McClure, Michael Bobbitt and Jim Perry.

MYRTIS SYBLE PRICE REED
Funeral for Myrtis Syble Price Reed, 88, of Wells, was at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home chapel, with Kevin Somerville officiating. Burial was in the Alto City Cemetery.
Mrs. Reed was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Angelina County, to the late Eula Grisham and Walter H. Price. She died Tuesday, April 1.
Mrs. Reed was a member of the Cold Springs Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Reed; and two granddaughters, Karen Bryan and Anita Reed.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Marvin Malnar of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Debbie Reed of Lufkin; granddaughter and husband, Becky and Rodney Dorman of Lufkin; grandsons, Burl E. Hartnett Jr. and Raymond Reed, both of Lufkin, Chris Reed of Dallas and Michael Reed of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Kevin Bryan, Kristina Bryan and Kyle Renfro.

MARGIE MARIE ALLEN WALLACE
Graveside service for Margie Marie Allen Wallace, 75, of New London was at 3 p.m., Friday, April 11, at the Alto City Cemetery with the Rev. George Bourque and Chaplain Carie Ponder officiating.
Mrs. Wallace died April 8. She was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Alto, to the late Raymond and Agnes Felder Allen.
She was a resident of New London for seven months and formerly lived in Rusk. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church, a retired convenience store manager and health care provider.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Ray Lusk and Tommy Lusk; a brother, Charles Allen and a sister, Virginia Harris; and a son-in-law, Gaylon Moore.
Survivors are three sons and one daughter-in-law, Marvin Lusk of Nacogdoches, Bruce and Teresa Lusk of Central Heights, and DeWayne Wallace of Jacksonville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Doris and Leslie Parker of Rusk, Janette Moore of Troup and Ginger and Eddy Shorter of Laneville; two sisters, Katherine French of Jacksonville and Doris Williams of Lake Jackson; 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements were under the direction of Wallace- Thompson Funeral Home.
TONY HARRISON
Funeral for Tony Harrison, 61, of Jacksonville, was at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Barbara Hugghins officiating. Burial was in Griffin Cemetery at Troup.
Mr. Harrison died April 9. He was born March 3, 1947, in Jacksonville, to William R. (Dub) and Edie Harrison. He was a member of the Jacksonville First United Methodist Church. He was an honor graduate of Jacksonville High School where he lettered in basketball, football and track. Mr. Harrison graduated from Lon Morris College and Stephen F. Austin State University, where he also received a masters degree in education. He was a high school teacher, then assistant principal and later principal and won national recognition for his work.
Mr. Harrison was a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, Tarheel Association of Principals and Assistant Principals, North Carolina Association of Educators, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, and was a life member of the Texas State Teachers Association. He was the recipient of the Beaufort County Principal of the Year award in 1996, member of Phi Delta Kappa, professional fraternity in education, Stephen F. Austin State University 1972 until present, as well as many other scholastic organizations. Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tonya Harrison of Spring; a daughter, Robin Collins of Lake Tawakoni; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Michelle Harrison of Spring, Ross and Pam Harrison of Grand Prairie and Keith and Donna Harrison of New Braunfels; and four grandchildren, Heather, Jessica, John and Maegan.
Pallbearers were Stephen Harrison, Patrick Harrison, Brent Harrison, Matt Harrison, Beall Orr and John Whisenhunt.
BILL COBBLE
Funeral for William Dee (Bill) Cobble, 72, of Rusk was at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Cobble died April 11. He was born October 28, 1935 in Waxahachie. Mr. Cobble was a resident of Rusk for 17 years, formerly of Palestine and Waxahachie.
He retired in 1976 after 25 years at Knox Glass in Palestine. He attended Palestine High School and served in the National Guard Army Reserves from Oct. 8, 1953 to Oct.7, 1959. He was a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.
He owned and operated Babcock Bros. in Rusk for 14 years. Mr. Cobble also had an exterminating business while employed at Knox Glass.
Preceding him in death were his son, William Keith Cobble; his parents, William and Ruby Ethyl Williams Cobble; a sister, Mary Thacher and two brothers, Robert Cobble and Leon Cobble.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Marie Cobble of Rusk; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brittany Hill Cobble Birdwell and Leslie Birdwell of Rusk and Tricia DeeAnn and Gilbert Torres of Fort Worth; two sons Stephen Justin Cobble of Rusk and Mark Dwayne Cobble of Palestine; five granddaughters, Makinna DeeAnn Metheny and Lindsey Brooke Torres, both of Fort Worth, Amanda Calkin of Tyler, Lamanda O'Neal of Palestine, Kayla Collette of Palestine; three grandsons, Joel Collin Torres of Fort Worth, Jacob Keith Cobble of Palestine, and William Joe Cobble of Florida; three great-grandchildren, Anna Cobble and Andrew Cobble, both of Florida and KyAnn O'Neal of Palestine; and a sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Doug Pryor of Frankston.

Funeral for Earnest Newburn (Earnie) Durrett, 72, of New Summerfield was at 1 p.m. April 15, in the Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Andy Cox officiating. Burial was in McDonald Cemetery.
Mr. Durrett died April 12. He was born July 13, 1935, in Jacksonville to Earnest Durrett and Willie Caroline Stincephier. He was a retired air conditioner technician and a Baptist.
Mr. Durrett was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob Durrett; and a son-in-law, Rodney Westbrook.
Survivors are his wife, Gladys Durrett of Rusk; a son, Ricky Durrett of New Summerfield; two daughters and sons-in-law Belinda Westbrook of Jacksonville, Louise and Scott Paine of Houston; a step-son and spouse, Dewayne and Jenny Chapline of Jacksonville; a sister, Dorothy Carpenter of New Summerfield; and a sister-in-law, Jean Durrett of Onalaska; former spouse Margaret Tillman of Jacksonville; grandchildren and spouses, James Allen Hays, Laura and Jason Oakley, Ronnie and Amanda Westbrook, Devin Westbrook, Daniel Durrett, Latona Durrett, Melissa Paine, Bradley Shoemaker, Jennifer Chapline, Lauren Chapline; nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

CARL GOOLSBEE PAYNE
Graveside service for Carl Goolsbee Payne, 89, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Richfield Cemetery in Richfield, Kan. with Pastor Sandy Ferguson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post No. 3162.
Mr. Payne died April 10, in Elkhart, Kan. The fourth child of Jewel Adam and Kate Madaline Payne, he was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Rusk. He was the last living of five brothers and a sister. He was reared in Rusk and among his accomplishments was being a multi-year, three-sport star in high school.
After high school, he entered the Army Air Corps and attended pilot training. After a short period as a flight instructor, he was transferred to the European theater as a fighter pilot. He rapidly advanced to flight leader because of his all-weather flight ability. He is credited as the first American pilot to shoot down the original German jet fighter. After the War he remained in Europe performing various duties and while there he met and married Frances Ellen Kinsler.
He transferred to the Air Force at its inception in 1947 and completed a 30-year career, retiring in 1969. He was selected as an air attaché and among the initial cadre of flight instructors for the Air Force of Thailand.
He was promoted to the rank of Colonel.
He become a wheat farmer and cattle rancher and moved to Richfield, Kan., near his wife's birthplace.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Frances, on Aug. 18, and his brothers and sister. He is survived by their four children, Carl Jr., and his wife, Carolyn of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Rebecca Payne Houston of Gordonville; Stephen and his wife Bobbie of Richfield; and Theresa Ann Weiss of Plano; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. CLARENCE D. (BUDDY) ROYE
Clarence D. (Buddy) Roye, 65, of Tacoma, Wash. died April 6, at Highland Dementia Care Center. A private graveside service will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk. Mr. Roye was born Feb. 6, 1943, and was the son of the late Anne Elizabeth and Henry Guinn of Rusk. Mr. Roye grew up in Rusk and was a Rusk High School graduate.
He is survived by wife Alice Roye; two daughters and sons in law, Toni and John Sager and Tracie and Vince Sedminik; grandchildren, Travis, Lauren, Austin, Katie, Natasha and Vincent Jr., Diane and Alan Sargent, Tammy and Larry Sargent, Roy and Belita Sargent, Chuck and Rhonda Sargent and many friends.

YARLIN I. TRAWICK
Funeral for Yarlin Iverson Trawick, 96, of Maydelle was at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. R. A. Compton and the Rev. Michael Richard officiating. Burial was in Clover Hill Cemetery at Quitman. Mr. Trawick died Monday, April 14, in Tyler.
He was born March 16, 1912, in Center to William P. and Onie Fults Trawick. Mr. Trawick was a member of the Maydelle First Assembly of God and was retired from Rusk State Hospital with 31 years of service.
Mr. Trawick was preceded in death by son, Eugene Trawick; daughter, Jurlillene Marshall; granddaughters, Caroline Crane and Sheryl Marie Trawick; sons-in-law, Hardy Perry and Ted Marshall; and brother and sister-in-law, A.B. and Morene Trawick.
Survivors are his wife of 72 years, Bethel Trawick of Maydelle; son and daughterin law, Noriel Gene and Verline Trawick of Maydelle; three daughters and a son-in-law, Lavene Perry of Grand Prairie, Marvalene Henderson of Maydelle, and Marlene and Marlin Ingram of Quitman; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael Trawick, Allen Lee (Rusty) Scogin, Bobby Lynn Feagin, Hardie Ingram, Shannon Ingram and Marlin Ingram.
OVELL HALBERT KING
Funeral for Ovell Halbert King, 86, of Oakland was at 2 p.m., Friday, April 18, in the Oakland Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. R.S. Dyess and the Rev. Ricky King officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Mrs. King died April 15. She was born April 24, 1921, in Dialville. She lived in Rusk and Oakland most of her life. She retired from Rusk State Hospital in 1983 after 12 years of service. She was a member of Oakland Missionary Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, Walter Merle King; her parents, Tom and Dora Halbert; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Jody King and Lynn and Lynn Ann King, all of Rusk; a sister, Opal Sanders of Rusk; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Peat and Albert Wesley King of Houston and Tommie and Preston Hill of Brownwood; five grandsons and their wives, Tim and Melissa King, Randy and Sherry King and Mark and Jodi King, all of Rusk, Ricky and Lynnette King of Junction City, La. and Dale King of Jacksonville; two granddaughters and their husbands, Charlotte and Roger Stewart of Rusk and Nicky and Jim Crow of Brock; 20 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

EDNA NOELEENE BAXLEY
Graveside service for Edna Noeleene Baxley, 76, of Alto was at 10 a.m. Friday at the Old Palestine Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Randy Fitzgerald and the Rev. Dick Dobbins officiating.
Mrs. Baxley died April 16. She was born Sept. 18, 1931, in Mary Port, England to William Harold and Martha Jeffries Thompson. She had lived in Alto since 1975 and was a member of the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church. She worked for Magill's Ranch for 19 years and was a homemaker.
Survivors are three brothers, Ralph Thompson of Haslingdon, England, Jimmy Thompson of Cyprus Island and Albert Thompson of High Peak, England; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Josh Lindsey, Jim Bob Lindsey, Freddy Johnson, Cole Johnson, Harry Vanderveer and John Mines. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Downtown Bible Class, Bill Warner, Frank McClain and Alfred Danheim.
Arrangements were under the direction of O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home.
ALVIE F. JONES
Funeral for Alvie F. Jones, 92, of Alto was at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hilltop Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Maxwell officiating. Burial was in Lynches Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Jones died April 17. He was born June 17, 1915, in Slocum, to Oliver B. and Elizabeth Foster Jones.
He lived in Alto for 28 years and was a charter member of the Hilltop Baptist Church and a cattle rancher.
He had lived in Houston for many years and worked 33 years for the Goodyear Rubber Company. He had been a member of the Golden Acres First Baptist Church in Houston. He attended Sam Houston State University on a football scholarship and worked parttime as an umpire for college baseball games.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Jones; two brothers, Willard Jones and Tom Bridges; and a sister, Viola Wallace.
Survivors are seven sons and four daughters-in-law, James and Joana Jones, Mark and Kerrie Jones and Clifford Jones, all of Alto, Alvie F. Jones Jr. and Donald and Helen Jones, all of Houston; Bobby and Gina Jones of Diboll and Norman Jones of Humble; two brothers, Troy Jones of Elkhart and J.W. Bridges of Cuero; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
Sons and grandsons served as pallbearers.

CHARLIE R. MCCREIGHT
Graveside service for Charlie R. McCreight, 88, of Jacksonville, was at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating.
Mr. McCreight died April 16 in Cherokee County. He was born Nov. 25, 1919, in Cherokee County to the late Samuel and Mollie Beecham McCreight. He was a lifelong Cherokee County resident and a sawmill worker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McCreight.
Survivors include five sons, Charles McCreight of Rusk, Bobby McCreight of Lake Palestine, Michael McCreight of Crockett, Randy McCreight of Corpus Christi and Steven McCreight of Jacksonville; two daughters, Sandra Frutos of Jacksonville and Rita Mc- Creight of Ohio; and a brother, Obie McCreight of Houston; a sister, Virginia Dickson of Rusk; 17 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

YVONNE BERTHA SMITH
Graveside service for Yvonne Bertha Smith, 80, of Jacksonville was at 11 a. m. Monday at Resthaven Memorial Park with Mitchell McRight officiating. Mrs. Smith was born May 25, 1927, in Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium and died April 17.
She and her parents suffered under Nazi occupation during World War II. Due to the war, her high school graduation was held in a bomb shelter. She met her future husband, Wilburn Ray Smith, in 1944, when he served with the 743rd Tank Battalion that liberated her village. After the war, she was employed by the Belgium Treasury Department in Brussells. She corresponded with Mr. Smith and his sister, Jonnie, for several years before immigrating to the United States.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith were married January 10, 1950, and she became a U.S. citizen that same year. They lived in Houston and she was employed by NASA - Johnson Space Center for 25 years. She was fluent in six languages. They retired to Jacksonville. She was a Catholic. Preceding her in death were her husband of 58 years, Wilburn Ray Smith; and her parents Nina and Jules Godfroid.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Geary Ray and Debbie Smith of Rockport; daughter, Vivian Smith of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Eric Bertram and wife Susan, of San Antonio, Colin Smith and wife, Anna, of Austin and Cayce Smith of Austin; great-grandson, Steven Ray Smith of Austin; sister-in-law Jonnie Campbell of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Campbell, Hal Wayne Campbell, Dennis Campbell, Raymond Folmar, Winson Bearden, Autry Funeral Home was in charge.
JERRY LEE HASSELL
Graveside service for Jerry Lee Hassell, 69, of Jacksonville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Corine Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating.
Mr. Hassell died April 19. He was born July 1, 1938, in Cherokee County. to Leonard Hassell and Mary Lou Langford Hassell. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a retired railroad brakeman. Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister Nell Carroll; and nephew Rickey Linville.
Survivors are his wife Pat Hassell of Jacksonville; son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and Charlotte Hassell of Jacksonville; daughter and son-inlaw, Angela and Cord Rogers of Jacksonville; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Doodley Williams of Jacksonville; four grandchildren Brittany Hassell, Caleb Lee Hassell, Peyton and Preslee Rogers, all of Jacksonville; and one great-grandson, Kaden Lane Hassell of Jacksonville. BOBBYE MORGAN
Graveside service for Bobbye Morgan, 87, of Jacksonville, was 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Jacksonville City Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Vernon Lee officiating.
Mrs. Morgan died April 16. She was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Bullard to J. P. Hesterley and Alice Cawthon Hesterley. She was a member of the Jacksonville First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Morgan.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Charlotte Morgan of Jacksonville; a daughter, Maribel Morgan of Jacksonville; a step daughter, Pat Lanham of Dallas; and several great nieces and nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.
ALLAN WAYNE BALCH
Funeral for Allan Wayne Balch, 55, of Jacksonville, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23 at Autry Funeral Home chapel with Pat Jones officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at the Lower Cemetery in Chireno.
Mr. Balch died April 20. He was born February 28, 1953, in Dallas and graduated from Chireno High School. He began his 34 year career in the financial services industry while majoring in programming at Stephen F. Austin State University. He served as senior vice-president, sales of Computer Services Inc. (CSI). Prior to joining CSI in 2000, he held various management positions in all phases of bank data processing operations with Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Affiliated Computer Services and American Data Services. He had served as president of the National Association of Bank Services, president of the Association of Financial Technology and also three terms as director.
He was a member of Jacksonville Southside Church of Christ and served as an elder, teacher and song leader. He was vice-chairman of the year economic development by the Chamber of Commerce and also named who's who of young businessmen.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Balch Holloway and mother-in-law, Martha Metteauer Woodard.
Survivors are his wife of 34 years, Barbara Ruth Woodard Balch; two daughters and sonsin law, Jillian Ruth Balch and Dean Dublin of Sachse and Marcie Nichole Balch and Kyle Splann of Nacogdoches; a son, Blake Allan Balch of Reston, Va.; grandchildren Jackson Bryan Dublin, Julianna Ruth Dublin, Walker Garrett Dublin, Keelan Kyle Splann and Bailey Allan Splann; his parents, J. C. and Thelma Balch of Jacksonville; father-in-law, W. D. (Jigger) Woodard of Chireno; sister, Sandra Balch Hatcher of Houston and brother-inlaw, Kenneth Woodard of The Woodlands; nieces, Deborah Holloway Thompson, Wendy Holloway Wilburn; and nephews, Stephen Holloway and Derek Martin; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

THOMAS E. BARROW
Funeral for Thomas E. Barrow, 86, of Jacksonville, was at 10 a.m. April 24 at Autry Funeral Home chapel with Robby Arrington and Don Crawford officiating. Burial was in Jarratt Cemetery.
Mr. Barrow died April 22. He was born June 24, 1921, in Lucedale, Miss.
He served in the U. S. Marine Corp. during World War II and the Korean War. He received two Purple Hearts, The Navy Cross and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Rusk. He was a building contractor in New Orleans, La., where he owned a RV sales and service company for 20 years. He moved to Jacksonville, where he started and operated Barrow Industries for 20 years.
Mr. Barrow was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey and Clyde Barrow.
Survivors are wife of 62 years, Mary Elizabeth Barrow of Jacksonville; a son, Thomas Richard (Rick) Barrow of Dallas; a daughter and son-inlaw, Mary Lynn and Dan Alan Ferguson Sr. of Jacksonville; a sister, Maunette Risher of Alexandria, La.; three grandchildren, Dan Alan Ferguson Jr., Casey Thomas Ferguson and Jana Lynn Ferguson; and one great-granddaughter, Kenzie Lynn Ferguson.
Pallbearers were Danny Ferguson, Casey Ferguson, Owen Risher, Mike Beard, Kent Shuttlesworth and Jerry Morrow.
JAY WILLIS
Graveside service for Jay Willis, 78, of Jacksonville was at 10 a.m. Friday at Corine Cemetery in Jacksonville with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating.
Mr. Willis died April 22. He was born April 11, 1930, in Limestone County to Buford and Verna Sherrd Willis. He was a member of Sunset Baptist Church. Mr. Willis was a retired Ford Motor Co. salesman and member of VFW Post # 3984 in Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Ray Willis, his parents and two sisters.
Survivors are wife Weita Willis of Jacksonville; a son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Cathy Willis of Jacksonville; two brothers and a sister-in-law Bill and Shirey Willis of Jacksonville and Richard Willis of Crum; three sisters and brothers in-law Artie and Gerald Peters and Shirley and Ken Ratliff, all of Frankston, and Eleanor and Steve Stephens of Kilgore; grandson Chris Willis of Jacksonville; two great-grandsons, Dylon and Ryan Willis of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
C.E. (SHOTS) REID
Funeral for C.E. (Shots) Reid, 79 of Alto, was at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Campground Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Goforth officiating. Burial was in Lynches Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Reid died April 23. He was born Nov. 4, 1928, near Rusk to James Birten and Frances Masters Reid. He lived in Houston for 20 years where he worked for Sunbeam Bread as a baker. He had been in Alto for 39 years and attended the Campground Baptist Church. He worked for Hicks Post Company.
Preceding him in death were his son, Butch Reid; his parents; and brothers, David, Ernest, J.W. (Red), Harmon, Robert, Joe, Mack and Raymond Reid.
Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Mary Butler Reid of Alto; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Reid of Alto; a brother, Floyd Reid of Liberty Hill; two sisters, Addie Mae Bowman of Oakland and Lorene Ward of Grandview; a grandson, Charley Reid of Huntsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Kevin Pierce, Tommy Lynn Grogan, Billy Mason, Al Lemon, Tommy (Diller) Selman and Nicky Wallace. Buck Chapman was honorary pallbearer.

MARIE MAYO
Funeral for Marie Mayo, 86, of Rusk was at 3 p.m. Monday in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Don Copeland and the Rev. G.A. Stanfield officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Mayo died April 25. She was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Trinidad, to the late William Jarrett and Minnie Stevens Stanfield. She was a Rusk resident for 50 years, formerly of Trinidad. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rusk.
She retired in 1994 after 14 years of service with Rusk ISD. Mrs. Mayo was a child care provider for 30 years.
Preceding her in death were her husband Aubrey Mayo in 1997; two sisters, Odessa Ward and Leona Jackson; and a brother, Luther Stanfield.
Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Judy Mayo of Henderson and Jerry Don and Teresia Mayo of Chapel Hil; a daughter and sonin law, Linda and Roy Griffin of Streetman; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
SYBIL MYRLENE BURT
Funeral for Sybil Myrlene Burt, 79, of Tyler, formerly of Alto will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hilltop Baptist Church with Pastor David Mahfood officiating. Burial will be in the Alto City Cemetery.
Mrs. Burt died April 27. She was born July 1, 1928, in Alto to Willis and Pearl Monk Bland. She lived most of her life in Tyler.
She was a member of the Tyland Baptist Church in Tyler. She is preceded in death by her husband Morris Burt.
Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Keith Burt and his fiancé Patty McLeod of Austin, Steve and Linda Burt of Katy, Roger and Kay Burt of Whitehouse, Mark and Becky Burt of Tyler; brother and sister-in-law, James and Carol Bland of Tyler; a sister,Edith Coco of Beaumont; grandchildren, Michael, Stephanie, Jason, Jonathan and Kent; special friend, Kathy Rogers of Tyler; numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral for Peggy Ann Robinette Green, 68, of Madisonville, was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Day Funeral Home in Madisonville with Lon McVeigh officiating. Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rusk Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Odis Bryan officiating.
Mrs. Green died April 26. She was born Feb. 28, 1940, in Baton Rouge, La. to Robert Thomas and Ruby Lee Euna Pearson Robinette.
She was retired. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Oscar Green III; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Green; and a brother, Marvin Robinette.
Survivors are her husband, Oscar Monroe Green Jr.; her five daughters and three sonsin law, Peggy and Charles Cornelius of Rusk, Anita and Tommy Cornelius of Madisonville, Joycelyn Allman of Houston, Elizabeth and David Tom of Houston, Stephanie Shaffer of Madisonville; a son Marvin Green of Houston; a brother, Robert Robinette; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
