Russell Alloto

 Russell Alloto, 39, of Gahanna, Ohio and recently of Tyler and former Scioto County, Ohio resident, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Portsmouth July 30, 1968 to Margherita Gleason of Friendship, Ohio. He was a 1986 graduate of Portsmouth West High School and a 1990 graduate of Morehead State University. He was a senior director of business solutions with Alliance Data of Columbus. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Christie Welty Alloto; daughters Sarah and Audrey; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joanne and Lee Jordan of Lucasville, Elizabeth and Kevin Blevins of West Portsmouth and Tina Gleason and Mike Ash of Columbus; parents-in-law, George and Janet Welty of Friendship; Robert and Roseanna Clagg of Wheelersburg; sisters-in-law, Lori of Wheelersburg, Marelle and husband Joshua Shaner of Columbus, Carey and husband Ben Eash of Columbus, Lisa and Husband Tommy Human of Friendship and Sherry Montgomery of Columbus; nieces and nephews, Nadia and husband Danny Smith of Lucasville, Kristen Arthur, Dustin Cook and Derek Arthur all of Wheelersburg, Taylor Montgomery of Columbus, Andrew, Nathan, Aaron, and Emma Blevins of West Portsmouth, Kaleb and Ethan Smith of Lucasville, Logan Jordan of Lucasville, Madi and Eash of Columbus and Sadie Smith, of Lucasville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth with the Rev. Dwayne McNew officiating and the internment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Melcher Funeral Home in Portsmouth. in lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the American Cancer Society. Robert Roy Barr

 Robert Roy Barr passed away on June 19, 2008. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Dorothy P. (Dottie) Barr; three children, Linda Flores of Groveland, Calif., Robin Walton of San Jose, Calif., and LaRetta Britton of Rusk; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Bob was a veteran of World War II serving as a jeep driver in General George Patton’s 3rd Army. As a young man he was a gifted athlete excelling in basketball, bowling, golf and horseshoes. He was born of Sept. 27, 1925 in Rock Island, Ill. Bob worked early on for the John Deere Company in Moline, Illinois and later moved to California and worked for the school district in Salinas, California retiring as chief of the computer section. Following the marriage of their youngest daughter LaRetta, Bob and Dottie sent out on a series of adventures while moving from California to Pennsylvania then on to Alvin, then on to Florida, back to Texas, back to Florida, and finally to the Pineywoods of East Texas in 2005.Bob was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Rusk. There will be a memorial service for Bob at the First United Methodist Church in Rusk on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 6 p.m. with Rev. Michael Caldwell officiating. Terri Dee Brown

Teri Dee Gray Brown, 42, passed away at her home 5719 FM 2138 N, South of Jacksonville, Friday  July 11, 2008. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Maydelle with Rev. Kevin King officiating. Burial will be at West Shady Grove Cemetery, Jacksonville. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. She is survived by her husband Stanton M. Brown; her stepson Stanton W. Brown; her parents John and Sandra Gray; her brother John Gray; her sister Wendi Gray Nelson; eight nephews; five nieces; numerous cousins, uncles, aunts and other family members. Mrs. Brown was born Aug. 6, 1965 in James Connally AFB Hospital in Waco where her father was serving an an officer in the United States Air Force. Moving frequently with her family as she grew up, she always considered the family farm South of Jacksonville as her home. She spent most summers growing up there with her grandparents Millard and Anne Croft. She met her husband while living in Moscow, Idaho and attending the University of Idaho. They were married on Dec. 7, 1991 in Garfield, Wash. She has spent the last 15 years living and working in the Jacksonville area and was formerly employed by the Rusk State Hospital until an injury forced an early retirement. She was an active member of Lions International, Rusk club, along with her mother-in-law Mrs. Ardys Brown and her sister-in-law Mrs. Alicia Oliver. Teri held the post of second vice president and recording secretary. She was also an active member of the First Methodist Church of Jacksonville and a former member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. Additionally she was looking forward to future membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Teri spent the last several years in poor health but always retained her cheerful optimism and had a quick smile for everyone, despite often being in significant pain. She carried in her an enormous capacity to love and care for all of those around her. And her kind heart extended beyond her family and friends and often led to a steady stream of stray and hurt animals being cared for by her in her home. The latest of which was a small blind cat named Isis who Teri nursed back to health. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Millard and Anne Croft, a farmer and teacher in the community, Wilbur and Jenny Gray of Anderson, Ind., and her father-in-law Lt. USN (ret.) Stanton L. Brown also a Lions International Past District Governor and member. Pallbearers will be Michael Woelfer, Jason Branum, Lazaro Gomez, Scott Croft, Kevin Leight and John Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Croft, Wilbur Stone and Lynn Alexander. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the funeral home in Jacksonville. Maurice Cameron

Funeral services for Mr. Maurice Cameron, 83, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday July 25, 2008 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Hank Chandler officiating. Burial is at McDonald Cemetery, New Summerfield. Mr. Cameron died Tuesday, June 22, 2008 in Tyler. He was born April 26, 1925 in Griffin. Mr. Cameron proudly served with the Navy during WW II and was in the Pacific Theater. He was a Baptist and was employed as a carpenter and a home builder. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Cameron and Bell Pool Cameron; brothers Alton Cameron, Estell Cameron, Howard Cameron and Esco Cameron; sisters Gladys Wesley, Bernice Smith and Mildred Cameron; and granddaughter Tiffani Stanley. He is survived by his twin sister Maurine Cross; son Curtis Cameron and wife Susan of Garland; daughters Connie Aday and husband Paul of The Woodlands, Brenda Stahelin and husband Brent of Jacksonville and Elise Self and husband Rick of McKinney; as well as several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Paul Aday, Brent Stahelin, Rick Self, Michael Powell, Ben Briley and Chris Cross. Hattie Bob Chance

 Funeral services for Hattie Bob Chance, 94, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, July 18 2008 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville with Phillip Strong of Southside Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Jacksonville. Mrs. Chance died July 13, 2008 in Jacksonville. She was born May 10, 1914 in Appleby to William Oliver “Ollie” Strode and Sallie “Sadie” Edwina Frazer Strode. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School. On Nov. 4, 1934, she married James Earl Chance. The couple lived in Nacogdoches, Houston, and Jacksonville while birthing and rearing five children. She was a member of the Grand Lodge of the Ladies Society of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen, the Home Extension Service Club, the PTA of Westside Elementary, the PTA of Berry Elementary, Burbank Jr. High, Jeff Davis High School and Sam Houston High School, all in Houston, Texas. During her years in Houston she was a member of Second Christian Church. When she and her husband returned to Jacksonville in 1966, she was a member of the Corinth Road Church of Christ and Southside Church of Christ. She retired from Jacksonville Independent School District Jr. High Cafeteria. She loved to travel and saw much of the United States and traveled to Italy during her retirement. Mrs. Chance moved to Conroe in 2001 to reside in an assisted living facility and moved back to Jacksonville in January of 2008.Mrs. Chance was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Chance in 1969; daughter, Bobbie Earl Heide in 1992; sisters, Bessie Lowrance, Annie Mae Strode and Jim Addie Russell; and brothers, Oliver Strode and C.B. Strode. She is survived by daughter, Paula Thompson and Wayne, of Crockett; sons, Charles Chance and Rosemary, of Jacksonville, Edwin Chance and Carol, of The Woodlands, Billy Chance and Teresa, of Conroe; and son-in-law, Peter Heide, of San Antonio; sister, Joyce Harrington, of Conroe; and sister-in-law , Reva Strode, of Burnet; and special niece and family, Edith and Glen Hamilton, of Jacksonville. Mrs. Chance is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Ramona Kelm and Robbie of White Oak, Johnette Wasko and Tim of Atlanta, Mellanee Roberts and LaFate of Sapulpa, Okla., Marci Beasley and Richard of Lexington, Texas Nathan Chance and Janna of Jackson, Tenn., Marcus Chance and Marianne of Austin, Joshua Chance and Jessie Arian of Denver, Colo., Eddie Chance of The Woodlands, Judy Duroy and Raymond of The Woodlands, Wade Chance and Grace of Allen, Kristine and Matthew Fairchild of Lexington, S.C., Jon, Stefani and Michelle Gonzales of Conroe; 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. David Earl Coker

 Funeral services for David Earl Coker, 61, of Lufkin, formerly of Frankston are scheduled for Sunday, 2 p.m. July 13, 2008 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Frankston. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston. Mr. Coker died Friday July 11, 2008 in Lufkin. He was born Sept. 19, 1946 in Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe B. and Adele Simpson Coker and his brother Caroll Coker. Mr. Coker served the Anderson County Sherriff’s Department and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Frankston. Survivors include a son, Daniel Coker of Palestine; brother, Darrell Coker of Kennard; sisters, Ruth Cole of Pollok, Joyce Coker of Tom Ball; and good friends Mike Goodman and Larry Jo House of Frankston; and several nieces and nephews. Olivia Conwell

 Funeral services for Olivia Conwell, 28, of Dallas, formerly of Jacksonville, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2008 in New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Cummings and Rev. D. Hinton officiating. Burial will be in Ragsdale Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home. Conwell died Friday, July 11, 2008, in a car accident in Dallas. She was born Feb. 9, 1980 in Dallas. She was raised in Jacksonville and graduated from Jacksonville High School. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Survivors in include her mother, five children and three siblings. Pallbearers will be Stacey Franklin, Byron Franklin, Jason Franklin, Scottie Polk, Raymond Franklin, and Darrell Carter. Don Nolan Crawford

 Funeral services for Don Nolan Crawford, 64, of Maydelle are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2008 in First Baptist Church in Rusk with Rev. Don Copeland, Rev. G.W. McFadden and Rev. Brad Turlington officiating. Masonic Graveside Rites conducted by Rusk Masonic Euclid Lodge #45 will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk. Mr. Crawford died July 17, 2008 at his residence. He was born September 25, 1943 in Jacksonville, to Nolan Andrew and Inez Higgins Crawford. He graduated from Maydelle High School and attended Lon Morris College. Mr. Crawford married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Margaret “Cookie” Roach on Aug. 7, 1964. They moved to Dallas where he worked as an insurance underwriter until he was drafted into the army in December of 1965 for the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Korea and served as a Hawk Missile Specialist and was honorably discharged in September of 1967. Don worked with his dad on carpentry work until the couple started a family and then he went back into sales. Over the years he owned and operated a couple of restaurants in Rusk, Don’s Fried Chicken and the Winchester. He also bought and sold timber. Don has owned and operated Crawford’s Kwik Lube, car wash and storage in Rusk since 1998. He was Past Worshipful Master in Rusk Euclid Masonic Lodge #45, served on the Maydelle School Board and was a member of First Baptist Church in Maydelle where he served as Deacon. Don also taught youth and adult Sunday School over the years. Bringing others to Christ was important to him. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and just enjoying God’s Creation. Many memories were made with his family and friends enjoying the outdoors. Donnie loved his children, grandchildren and family, each one special in their own way. He said many times how blessed he and his family have been to have so many special friends and people who cared. Mr. Crawford loved people and was always looking to see who he might help and often did so anonymously. Along with his sweet and loving nature, he had an adventurous and fun loving spirit. Children were naturally drawn to him and loved him. He enjoyed having a good laugh and always had something humorous to say and had the family laughing even during the painful and difficult times during his short battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Inez Crawford, brother, Buck Douglas Crawford, sister, Billie Roach. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cookie Crawford of Maydelle, daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Phil Smith of Whitehouse, TX, son and daughter-in-law, Don Bradley and Melissa Crawford of Maydelle, grandchildren, Spencer and Preston Smith of Whitehouse, Brandon Crawford, Samantha, Jackson and Tatum Loya all of Maydelle, sister, Joan Scoggins of Mineola, TX, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Janet Roach of Maydelle, Jason and Delana Roach of Maydelle, nephews and nieces, Terry Roach, Melody Crawford, Deborah Gray, Buck, Dirk and Drew Crawford, Cody Roach, Jeana Gonzalez and Ty Roach. Billie Sue “Kitty” Hardy

Burial will be at Mixon Cemetery. Mrs. Hardy passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 in Tyler. She was born in Mineola to Robert Thacker and Clara Maude Stanley Thacker. Mrs. Hardy attended Victory Assembly of God, Tyler and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Clara Thacker and sister Thacker Cole. Survivors include husband Charles Hardy, of Mixon; daughter Claudia Hackbarth and husband Mark, of Tyler; two grandchildren, Rachel Hackbarth and Austin Hackbarth, both of Tyler; and several nieces and nephews. Thelma Harris

 Funeral services for Thelma Harris, 88, of Frankston are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Frankston with Rev. Eddie Hilburn, Rev. Gerald Hall, Jr. and Rev. Doug Howell officiating. She died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in Frankston. Burial will be at Frankston City Cemetery, Frankston. She was born Aug. 25, 1919 to William Henry Merl Gillum and Rosie Maybell Davidson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frankston as well as the Theadeus Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Jacksonville and she was a former Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Frankston. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents William Gillum and Rosie Davidson, husband, L.B. Harris, son, Elvin F Harris, daughter, Tiny Mae Harris, grand-daughter, Janet Harris, grandson, Jimmy Harris and great grandson, Dustin Harris. Mrs. Harris is survived by; her sons: Ray F. Harris of Frankston, Jimmy R. Harris of Athens and James E Harris of Jacksonville. Her daughters: Nettie Holland of Malakoff, Nell Hall of Palestine and Dianne Beard of Frankston. Brother: Edgar Gillum, of North Carolina, brother-in-law and wife, Ray and Lilly Harris of Jacksonville and sister-in-law Macie Mize of Wascom. Mrs. Harris had 25 grand children, 45 great-grand children and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Bobby Harris, Waddell Norris, Greg Goodwin, Tracy Harris, Craig Hawkins, Andrew Hall, Josh Harris and Craig Friberg. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren. Jessie Gray Hassell

 Graveside services for Jessie Gray Hassell, age 81, of Rusk are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 at Resthaven Memorial Park, Jacksonville with Dr. Phillip Bryant officiating. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Mrs. Hassell died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in Rusk. She was born September 14, 1926 in Rusk to Jesse B. Gray and Mary Clemmie Jones Gray. Mrs. Hassell was a member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville and was formerly a secretary for 38 years for Beall’s Dept. Stores. She was preceded in death by husband Lealon Hassell in December 1994, 2 infant sons, and parents Jesse and Clemmie Gray. Survivors include son James Hassell, Jacksonville; brother James Gray and wife Martha, Colleyville; and several cousins. Thomas Floyd Hayes

 Thomas Floyd Hayes was born May 31, 1918 in Augusta, Kansas to Birdeen and L.D. Hayes. He graduated from Wichita High School in 1936.Tom moved to Auga Dulce in 1936 to work on the construction of gasoline plants. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he spent two and one half years serving in the United States and the South Pacific. After being discharged he worked in his dad’s well servicing business. He returned to Texas in 1950 and was employed by the Tenneco Corporation for 33 years. During this time he supervised the construction of five gasoline plants and one chemical plant. One of his hobbies was flying and restoring planes. He had the advantage of having the renowned Lloyd Stearman as his flight instructor. Tom and Martha O’Quinn married in 1948. After Martha died, Tom and Sunshine Wilkerson, his neighbor of 31 years, were married. Tom and Sunshine enjoyed many years of traveling. He embraced his hobby of restoring Model A Ford’s and they enjoyed the adventures of ownership. After living in LaPorte for 63 years the Hayes moved to Helotes, Texas to be near their son and wife, Fred and Vicki Wilkerson. Tom was a member of the University Methodist Church of San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of the LaPorte Masonic Lodge #857 and held a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree. Tom held a Lifetime Membership in The Greater Houston Model A Restorer’s Club. He enjoyed the Texas State and Regional tours where he received the Most Experienced Driver Award for the past seven years. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife Sunshine Hayes, Fred and Vicki Wilkerson, granddaughter Holly Wilkerson, many dear cousins, dear relatives in Missouri, Kansas, and loving friends. Funeral services and Masonic Honors will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008 in Crawford-Crim-Bryan Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Womack, officiating. Pallbearers will be Pat Elzey, Bill Coleman, Reed Tolls, James Graves, Bryce Hayes, Doug Latimer. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. Bessie Jo Henderson

 Funeral services for Bessie Jo Henderson, age 73, of Frankston, TX are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday July 28, 2008 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston. Burial will be in Frankston City Cemetery. Mrs. Henderson died in Frankston on Friday, July 25, 2008. She was born in Frankston on Nov. 4, 1934.Mrs. Henderson retired as parts manager at Lade Ford after 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors are her husband, Billy Henderson; daughters and sons-in-law Debbie and Roger Hilton of Larue, Sue and Gordon Campbell of Frankston; two grandchildren Sarah Hilton and Cash Campbell. Mrs. Veneta Rose Holliday

 Mrs. Holliday went to join the Lord in Heaven on July 1, after an extended illness. She was born June 25, 1957 in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Holliday enjoyed her life’s work as a nurse in the area. She loved to be with her family and dote on her grandchildren. Survivors include husband Billy Holliday, Jacksonville, TX, daughters Suzy (David) Baldwin, Tyler, TX and Courtney Beaudet, Greenville, North Carolina, grandchildren Maggie Baldwin, Alexia Beaudet, and Ethan Beaudet, sisters and brother, Lily Baker, Cherokee, OK, Wayne (Angela) Bullock, Irving, TX, and Laura (Steve) Christopher, Reklaw, TX and parents Albert and Bernice Bullock, Jacksonville, TX. Eugene “Gene” Hunter

 Graveside services for Mr. Eugene “Gene” Hunter, 71, of Bullard are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday July 20, 2008 at Gossett Chapel Cemetery, Jacksonville under the direction of Autry Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Cox officiating. Mr. Hunter died Friday, July 18, 2008 in Tyler. He was born Nov. 3, 1936 in Van Zandt County. Mr. Hunter was member of the Church of Nazarene and was employed as a saw miller for over 45 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Dover Delaware Hunter and Mamie Cain Hunter. Hunter, of Tyler, and Lynda and Douglas Rice of Bullard; foster children Jesse and Angela Pool of Hallsville, Raymond and Amy Boswell of Midland and Merri and Jack Leatherwood of Tyler; sisters MaeDean Partney and Elizabeth and husband James Gibson, all of Tyler. Mr. Hunter had 19 grand children, one great-grand child and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jesse Pool, Raymond Boswell, Michael Howard, Rodney Fountain, Will Jennings and Craig Gray.  Funeral services for Mr. Ed Kiely, age 84, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at First United Methodist Church, Jacksonville with Rev. Dr. Edwin Crank and Rev. Dr. Faulk Landrum officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park, Jacksonville. Mr. Kiely died Monday, June 30, 2008 in Jacksonville after an extended illness. He was born February 26, 1924 in Dallas and had lived in Jacksonville over 50 years. He was the owner of the Kiely Printing Company. Mr. Kiely was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the Jacksonville Rotary Club. Mr. Kiely was President and a member of the East Texas Division of the State Board of Printing Industries Association. He was a member of the board of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and was always an active sports enthusiast. He served briefly as interim coach for Lon Morris College and worked at the Jacksonville Daily Progress and the Longview News Journal as a sports writer. He continued this interest throughout his life. His fifty years in the graphic arts industry were recognized in 2001 as Outstanding Business Man by the Chamber of Commerce and in 2003 he was honored by the Lon Morris College as an Alumni Who Makes A Difference. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Douglas and Irby Campbell Kiely. He is survived by; his wife of more than 49 years, Evelyne Kiely of Jacksonville, brother Rev. Harry Campbell Kiely and his wife Arlene of Silver Spring, Maryland, nephews; Matthew Kiely and Joel Kiely both of Washington D.C., Aaron Kiely and his wife Melissa and their two sons Kevin and Thomas, all of La Canada Flintridge, California and Adam Kiely, his wife Roxanna and their daughter Chisti Anna, all of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Special friends and sisters-in-law; Artrell Bunn Sanders of Henderson and Annie Lou Bunn of New Summerfield, both dedicated and faithful former employees and two special care givers, Marie Johnson and Shelia Tatum who were with him to the end of his journey. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville before the service. She was born June 28, 1931 to Leslie and Mary Ellen Parrish Cheevers. Mrs. King had lived most of her life in Sacul and had been a school teacher for 32 years at Joe Wright Elementary School in Jacksonville. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a master's degree. She was a member of the McKnight Congressional Methodist Church.Mrs. king was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Jack King. Survivors include her son, Tommy King of Sacul; daughter, Linda Williams of Fort Worth; brother, Leslie Cheevers Jr. of Lake Jackson; sister, Kathleen Nick of Lufkin; and grandchildren, Stephanie King, Letecia Williams, Kimberly Williams and Matthew King. Dan Middleton officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in Owentown. Elba Morris was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Jacksonville to Ira T. Tidwell and Ruth Bradley Tidwell. She attended school in Dialville and graduated from Beaumont High School. She was a lifelong area resident of Jacksonville and Mount Selman. She was a member of the Mount Selman United Methodist Church and had retired as a customer service manager for Montgomery Ward in Tyler. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Legacy Hospice in Tyler. Elba was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Emory Morris; sisters, Lottie and Dorothy; and brother, Harvey. She is survived by her daughter and husband, Robin Smoot and Noel of Mount Selman; her son, Eric Joshua Morris of Tyler; four grandchildren, Kimberly Brooks, April Smoot, Brian Smoot and Joshua Morris; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Miles, Callisha Miles, Britney Miles, Ethan Smoot and Taren Smoot; nieces, Nancy Harbison and Louise Hunter, with a special thank you for all her love and support and help; and nephew, Keith Hunter. Ronnie Glover officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk. Mrs. Pryor died July 6, 2008 in a Jacksonville hospital. She was born March 18, 1949 in Tyler, TX. She was a resident of Maydelle for 23 years formerly of Tyler. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Overton, TX and a United States Postal Service worker for 25 years serving in Maydelle, Jacksonville, and Tyler. She was Postmaster for 15 years in Maydelle. Mrs. Pryor was editor of NAPUS for one year as well as head of the Hospitality Committee for NAPUS with her husband. Mrs. Pryor and her husband were frequent travelers and visited Washington D.C. and the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. She received her Associates Degree in Computer Science from Tyler Junior College and studied family genealogy and also organized and held the yearly Maydelle Community Easter Egg hunt for many years. Preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy Buckelew, sister, Peggy Jennings. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Earl Pryor of Maydelle, four sons, Anthony Earl Pryor of Wylie, TX, James Eugene Pryor of Keller, TX, Kevin Wayne Pryor Sr. and wife Sandra of Overton, TX, Tracy Duane Pryor of Texarkana, TX, sister, Shera Duncan and husband Ron of Overton, eleven grandchildren including Heather Watson, Taylor Watson, Preston Pryor, Wesley Pryor, Nicholas Pryor, Tyler Pryor, Kevin Pryor Jr., Sarah Bracewell, Emily Bracewell, Brent Pryor, Chelsey Pryor, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and one uncle. Thompson died Saturday, June 28, 2008 in ETMC-Jacksonville. He was born April 18, 1918 in the Mount Haven Community.

He was born Feb. 20, 1951 in Texas. Mr. Thompson was employed in the printing industry and was considered a very loving person by friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruford Theron Thompson and Louiza Winifred Sharp Thompson and niece Rickie Marie Johnston. He is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Charlotte and Duane Turner of Hughes Springs, Brenda and Tommy Shuttlesworth of Wake Village, and Nell and Jim Buchanan of Longview; brother and sister-in-law Randy and Betty Thompson of Lovettsville, Va.; several loving nieces and nephews and special friend and caregiver Marcia Lovell of Pahrump, Nev. who was with him to the end of his journey. Frances Leona Crim Whitfield

 Frances Leona Crim Whitfield, 87, of Van Alstyne, formerly of Jacksonville, passed away June 28, 2008 at Meadowbrook Care Center in Van Alstyne. She was born Nov.16, 1920, in McKinney, the daughter of Julius and Minnie Lee (York) Samples. She married J. B. Crim in 1939 in Sherman. He preceded her in death in December 2004. She married Tommy Whitfield in February 2007, at Meadowbrook Care Center. Frances was a homemaker and member of East Lake Baptist Church in Bullard. After entering Meadowbrook Care Center in 2005, she became active in the Red Hat Ladies Society, led the Sittercize Group, was elected resident of the month and Valentine Queen, and participated in church services, bingo, and many other activities. She is survived by her husband, Tommy; sons and daughters-in-law, Grover Carrell and Peggy Crim of Anna, Don and Lana Crim of Van Alstyne, and James and Betty Crim of Jacksonville; grandchildren and their spouses James Carrell and Rosa Crim, Kelly Crim, David and Dennie Crim, Shanna and Greg Scott, Jeffrey and Brandi Crim, Kevin and Wendy Crim, and Janna and Michael McMahon; 11 great-grandchildren including Meghan Crim Pike of Jacksonville, and one great-great-granddaughter.
