M.M. "Chicken" Butler 5/30/2007 -11/1/2007

 Funeral services for M.M. “Chicken” Butler, age 95, of Poynor, will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 4, at Poynor Baptist Church, with Rev. Jeff Godwin and Rev. Jim Boyte officiating. Burial will be at Poyner Cemetery.
 
Mr. Butler died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at his residence. He was born May 30, 1912 in Larue, to Tom and Pearl Thrasher Butler.

Mr. Butler was the former owner of Parade Service Station in Poyner, former County Commissioner PCT #4, Henderson County, past Chairman of the Board of Deacons of Poyner Baptist Church where he served as a member Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for the past 6 years.

Mr. Butler is preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy and Daughter: Mary Jane Butler.

Survivors include his Daughter & Son-in-law: Linda Sue & Gary Giles, Hurst; 3 Grandsons & 4 Great-Grandsons.

Pallbearers will be: Keith Bristow, Robert Magee, Bobby Holcomb, Ronnie Bruton, Dwayne Johnson, Bill Westbrook and Steve Westbrook.  Honorary Pallbearers will be: George Mixon & Buster Stringfield.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday, November 3 at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

 Elizabeth Ann Benjamin 3/7/1952 -11/2/2007

 Funeral services are scheduled for Elizabeth Benjamin, 55 of Frankston for Tuesday, November 6 at 2:00 PM at Hilltop Baptist Church, Berryville with Rev. George Folmar and Rev. Shane Morgan officiating.  Burial will be in Wofford Cemetery, Frankston.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, November 5 from 6 to 8 PM at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Elizabeth was a social worker with CCMRA.

 Nanci Bacon House 1/19/1934 -11/4/2007

 Graveside services for Nanci A. House of Jacksonville and formerly of Frankston, Tx., Arizona and New Mexico are scheduled for Thursday, November 8, 2007 @ 2:00 PM at Corine Cemetery, Corine, with Rev. George Folmar officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Ms House died Sunday, November 4 in Jacksonville. She was born January 19, 1934, in Arkansas City, Kansas, moved to Frankston 1954, then moved to New Mexico in 1975. Ms. House returned to Jacksonville in 1991 and retired as a Free Lance Artist.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father: Kathleen & Arthur C. Bacon, father: Howard G Stewart, Grandmother: Jenni Mable Floyd, Grandfather: John Floyd, son: Floyd Jeffery House, brother: David Gordon Bacon, 2 sisters: Arta V. Taylor & Jennifer Bacon, uncle: John Floyd, favorite aunt: Jana Floyd, Best Friend: Janet Yandell, son-in-law John Wimmer.

Survivors include: Children: Janet Wimmer, Jacksonville & Randy House, Lake Palestine, 5 grandchildren & eight great-grandchildren, sister: Cynthia Kenneburg, Peoria, AZ., friend: Sally England, New Mexico & several nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers: Lloyd Grayson, Charles Dickerson and John Brubaker.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, November 7 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home in Jacksonville.

 Isla Boyd 11/15/1920 -11/4/2007

 Memorial services for Isla Lucile Boyd, 86, of Tyler (formerly of Nederland) will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 17 in Centennial, Colorado. A graveside service will be held at Oakland Memorial Park in Center, Texas on Saturday at November 10 at 10 a.m.

Miss Boyd was born on November 15, 1920 in Mercedes, Texas to the Rev. James Cleveland Boyd and Isla Mae Splawn Boyd. She passed away on November 4, 2007 at Jacksonville Healthcare Center in Jacksonville.

Lucile was a career educator having taught in several school districts in Texas and retiring from the Port Arthur Independent School District. She was a college graduate and a Veteran of World War II having served in the Air Force from 1942 to 1945. She was honorably discharged with a rank of Corporal. After retirement, Lucile volunteered in the Nederland Independent School District. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Nederland where she was a member of the Silvertones.

Lucile was much beloved by her nieces and nephews. They accepted her as their special Aunt who took them on vacations and taught them to enjoy life. She loved animals and always had a pet. She shopped for Christmas for months ahead of time seeking a unique gift for each person.

Lucile is survived by her sister Elizabeth Carr of Centennial, Colorado and nieces and nephews Jim Brown, Mary Madelyn B. Medina, Carolyn Hancock, Diane Carr, Terry Jo Hedrick, Jenny Boyd Bull, John Bull, and Susan Piller Wyatt.

 George Alex Worlow, Sr. 5/24/1926 -11/6/2007

 Ilene Glaze Wheeler 5/11/1935 -11/7/2007

 Funeral services for Ilene Glaze Wheeler, age 72, Frankston, TX. are scheduled for Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 10:00 A. M. at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston, TX. with Rev. J. A. Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Frankston City Cemetery.

Mrs. Wheeler died on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in Jacksonville, TX. She was born on May 11, 1935 in Frankston, TX. She was a member of Assembly of God, Frankston and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by granddaughter Sara Wheeler.

Survivors include husband John Wheeler, Frankston, sons and daughters-in-law Johnny Clate and Brenda Wheeler, Frankston and Don Frank and Misty Wheeler, Frankston, daughters and sons-in-law Shirley Gail and Harry Follbaum, Mesquite, Linda and Alton Rodgers, Frankston, and Jeannine and Jack Douglas, Jacksonville, TX., brothers Norman Clate Glaze, Sunnyvale, TX. and Samuel Charles Glaze, Dallas, TX, 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dana House, Hayden Mitchell, Jason Smith, Ronnie Smith, Steve Fisher, Zachary Johnson and Clayton Follbaum.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 with family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home in Frankston.

 Marie Kirkpatrick 7/13/1925 -11/8/2007

 Funeral services for Marie Kirkpatrick, 82, Jacksonville are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, November 12, 2007 in the Chapel at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Rev. Richard Boone officiating.  Burial will be in Jarratt Cemetery.

 Dan Haynes 8/29/1930 -11/8/2007

 Dan Moody Etheridge Haynes Funeral services for Dan Haynes, age 77, Emerald Bay are scheduled for Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 2:30 P. M. at Frankston Assembly of God with Rev. Michael Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at the Wofford Cemetery, Frankston, TX.

Mr. Haynes died on Thursday, November 8, 2007 in Tyler, TX. He was born on August 29, 1930 in Jacksonville, TX.

He graduated from Frankston High School. Served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War as a medic.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Stephen F. Austin University in 1960. He also attended LSU School of Banking. He was director of Stephen F. Austin Alumni Board from the 70’s until 2005, was president of Alumni Board 1982-1984 and served on many committees and was a strong supporter and spokesperson for the SFA University. In 1985 governor of Texas Mark White appointed Dana to the Stephen F. Austin Board of Regents of his Alma Mater. He served as vice chairman of the board 1986-1987 and chairman of the board 1987-1989. He also received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Stephen F. Austin University. He served on the Board of the Texas Bankers Association and was elected as treasure of TBA for one year. During his term on the board in 2005 Dan was recognized by the Texas Bankers Association for 50 years of banking service. His banking career took Timpson, Big Sandy, Tenaha, Italy, Hamilton, Burnet, Bullard and Frankston. He was president of Banking in Burnet, Bullard and Frankston. He was a member of Sharon Shrine Temple and 32 degree Mason and member of the William Foster Lodge in Frankston. He also served as a director on Emerald Bay Club Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Leatha Ehteridge and adoptive parents J. B. (Julian) and Carrie Haynes and sister Aretas Acree.

Survivors include his wife Stella Haynes, Emerald Bay, son and daughter-in-law Jason and Tracy Haynes, Baytown, son and friend Jud Haynes and Cara Watson, Leander, grandson Seth Haynes, Baytown (Dan’s pride and joy), brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Dorothy Grantham, Longview, sister Jeanette Jones, Jacksonville and many relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Sparks, Bobby Sisco, Bobby Sitton, Bobby Grantham, Willard Baker and Jerry Burks. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Paul Beauchamp, Billy Bacon, Gerald Dower, Steve Gamble, Paul Randolph, Bill Alstrin & John Tracy.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 with family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p. m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston, TX.

 David Lynn Cherry 3/5/1947 -11/8/2007

Graveside services for David Cherry, 60 of Lufkin are scheduled for Sunday, November 11 at 2:00 PM at Old Palestine Cemetery, Alto, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.  Mr. Cherry passed away on Thursday, November 8th in Lufkin.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, November 10, from 6 to 8 PM, at O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home in Alto.

 Shane Nolen 12/4/1971 -11/13/2007

 Graveside services for Shane Nolen, age 35, Frankston, are scheduled for Friday, November 16, 2007 at 3:30 P.M. at Wofford Cemetery in Frankston, with Rev. G.C. Folmar officiating.

Mr. Nolen died on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in Jacksonville.   He was born on December 4, 1971 in Jacksonville to Tom and Brenda Nolen.  Shane was a certified Paint and Body Man.

Survivors include wife: Rachel Nolen, Frankston, son: Ryan Shane Nolen, Frankston, parents: Tom Nolen, Frankston & Brenda Nolen, Jacksonville, brother: Christopher Nolen, Jacksonville, sister: Pam McDaniel, Seagoville, grandparents: E.A. & Ruth Nolen, Frankston and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be: Clyde Jones, Gene Schmidt, Doug Dunn, Ricky Shane McDaniel, Chris Nolen and Tommy Dean McDaniel.

 Jerrie Dement 5/3/1964 -11/13/2007

 Funeral services for Jerrie Dement, age 43, of Gallatin, TX. are scheduled for Friday, November 16, 2007 at 2:00 P. M. at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville, TX. with Rev. Robin Parsons & Rev. R.S. Dyess officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Dove Cemetery.

Mr. Dement died on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in Rusk, TX. He was born, May 3, 1964 in Lakeview, Oregon to Jackie & Sherrie Dement. He moved to Gallatin with his family in 1965. He has resided in the Gallatin and Ponta area ever since. Jerrie was a 1982 graduate of Rusk High School. He was self employed as a Dirt Contractor and Heavy Equipment operator.

Jerrie was preceded in death by his brother: Kennie Dement & grandparents: Carl & Cora Dement, John W. Lybrand and Sis & V.L. Rentle.

Survivors include wife: Cheri Dement, of Gallatin, parents: Jackie & Sherrie Dement, of Gallatin, children: Kailey & Keegan Dement of Weatherford, step-children: Heidi and Eli Whitaker, of Gallatin, brother: Willie Wallace, of Gallatin & sister: Liddie Amazeen, of Corsicana, nieces and nephews: Aaron, Nikki, Luke & Lance Dement of Rusk and Ben and Addie Amazeen of Caldwell and great niece, Andi Dement of Rusk.

Pallbearers will be David Talancon, Pete Terry, Phillip Munsinger, Dale Tylich, Dennis Jones, Donnie Wilcox.  Honorary Pallbearers are Aaron, Luke and Lance Dement, Ben Amazeen, Chance Loden, Willie Wallace and Mark Hayes.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2007 with family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

 Herbert Elton Coleman 9/18/1914 -11/15/2007

Herbert Elton Coleman, 93, died peacefully in his home surrounded by loving family and faithful caregivers. He was born in Broaddus, San Augustine County, Texas on September 18, 1914, to Lillie and Mason Coleman. Two years later the family moved to Reklaw, Texas where Herbert lived until he entered Jacksonville Baptist College in the fall of 1932. He married Oddie Irwin that same year. Three daughters followed–Patsy, Billie and Peggy.

Following graduation from JBC, Herbert taught school at Broaddus until 1942 when he volunteered for WWII duty in the Navy, serving as Lt. Senior Grade. His job was teaching aerial navigation as well as flying back and forth between The Phillipines and San Francisco as navigator. He was discharged from the service on December 27, 1945 and returned to Jacksonville to his wife and children. There, he went into the lumber business. He was a deacon in the Central Baptist Church from 1945 to present. Herbert was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and a past member of Good Fellow’s Bible Class. His was one of the families who helped establish Beall Chapel Baptist Mission in 1957.

Herbert was preceded in death by his first wife, Oddie, his second wife, Floyce, his eldest daughter, Patsy Beal and his only grandson, Mathew Coleman Beal. Heaven’s gates have opened for a Godly man to enter.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Coleman, his daughter, Billie and her husband Larry Bobo, his daughter Peggy and her husband Bill Tilden, his son-in-law Clyde Beal and his wife Janet. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and their spouses plus 16 great grandchildren. He left a legacy of love, compassion and grace.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville with interment to be in Walker's Chapel Cemetery, Reklaw.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for Elton Sessions, 56, of Jacksonville for Tuesday, November 20 at 3:30 PM at Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville with Rev. Ben Terry and Rev. Louis Dickey officiating.  Burial will be at Myrtle Springs Cemetery, Ponta.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, November 19, from 6 to 8 PM at Autry Funeral Home.

Brenda Wheeler 12/19/1961 -11/18/2007

Funeral services for Brenda Carol Wheeler, age 45, Frankston, TX. are scheduled for Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Assembly of God Church in Frankston, with Rev. Randy Wallace and Michael Griffin officiating.

Mrs. Wheeler died at her residence on Sunday, November 18, 2007 in Frankston. She was born on December 19, 1961 in Houston, TX., she moved to Frankston in 1968. She married her High school sweetheart Johnny C. Wheeler in May, 1983.

Mrs. Wheeler was a schoolteacher for seventeen years at Westwood Primary in Palestine, and homemaker for the past several years.

She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter: Sara Wheeler, mother: Burniece Decou, brother: David Kitchens and father John Kitchens, and mother-in-law, Ilene Wheeler.

Survivors include husband Johnny Wheeler, Frankston, daughters: Alicia, Courtney and Kayla Wheeler, one grandson: Jaxon Martin, all of Frankston., brother: Donny Kitchens, Frankston and sister: Linda Staggs, Santa Fe, TX. and step-father: E.L. Decou, Texas City, TX. and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bo Fail, Steve Fisher, John McGuffey, Max Beard & John Lookabaugh.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 with family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p. m. at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.
