Dorothy "Dottie" Welker Acker 3/18/1915 -7/2/2007

Dorothy (“Dottie”) Welker Acker passed away on July 2, 2007, in Jacksonville, Texas. Dottie, one of eleven children, was born on March 18, 1915, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to parents, Alvin R. Welker and Minnie Koontz Welker, both deceased.

Dottie met A.G. Acker, Jr., while both were serving in the Navy during World War II, and they were married in California on July 24, 1945, almost 63 years ago. After the war they made their home in Jacksonville, where Dottie was a Girl Scout leader for many years and an active member of the First United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She also belonged to the Alpha Omega Sunday School Class, “20-40” Supper Club, and the Cherokee County Genealogy Society.

She is survived by her husband A.G. Acker, Jr.; children, Godbey Acker and his wife Martha of Jacksonville, Donna Acker Hillin and her husband Tom of Houston. “Grandmommy” also leaves behind five grandchildren, Tamara Acker May and her husband Ronald of Tyler, TX, Bry Acker and his wife Jennifer of Arlington, TX, Amanda Acker Grissom and her husband John of Bentonville, AR, Thomas Greg Hillin and his wife Suzanne of Ventura, CA, Chris Hillin and his wife Mavis of West Hollywood, CA; three great-grandchildren, Riley May, Brayden Acker, and Avery Grissom. Dottie is also survived by a brother, Homer Welker and wife Anna Mae; a sister, Norma Smith; and a sister-in-law, Freida Acker.

The family would like to extend our love and deep appreciation to “Miss Dottie’s” wonderful caregivers: Vergie Lee, Gwen Herndon, Annie Myrul McClelland, Willie Mae Davis, and Dora Blanton. Also, a special thanks to the staff at Angelina House in Jacksonville.

Visitation will be held at the Autry Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5, 2007, from 7:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 6, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, TX, with Rev. Kevin King and Dr. Faulk Landrum officiating. A private burial will follow.

Burl George Bane 4/9/1927 -7/6/2007

 Graveside services are scheduled for "Mr. Burl" Bane, 80, Jacksonville for Sunday July 8 at 4 PM at Jarrat Cemetery.  No visitation is scheduled.

 John Melvin Gilmore 6/8/1930 -7/7/2007

 Funeral services are scheduled for John Gilmore, 77, Rusk for Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the First United Pentecostal Church, Alto.  Rev. James Littlefield & Rev. Keith Brooks officiating.  Burial will be in Still Waters Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 9 form 6 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home.

 Thelma M. Mullinix 12/22/1935 -7/10/2007

 Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, July 13th, 2007 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Maydelle.  Mrs. Mullinix passed away Tuesday in Ft Worth.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12th from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Archie Burnell Delaney 2/11/1933 -7/17/2007

 Funeral services for Archie Delaney, 74, Jacksonville, are scheduled for Friday, July 20, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Autry Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Middleton officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Jarratt Cemetery.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, July 19 form 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

 Harry H Smith 5/3/1919 -7/19/2007

 Funeral services are scheduled for Harry Smith, 88, of Frankston for Sunday, July 22, 2007 at The United Methodist Church of Frankston with Brother Doug Howell officiating; burial will be in the Old Bethel Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, July 21st from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Sharon (Sherry) Linville Patrick 7/31/1963 -7/22/2007

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sherry Linville Patrick, 43, of Jacksonville for Tuesday, July 31st, at 10:00 AM under the Arbor at Larissa Cemetery in Mt Selman. 

No visitation is scheduled.

C.F. Wimpy Mullinix 7/18/1935 -7/23/2007

 Graveside services are scheduled for C.F. "Wimpy" Mullinix, for Friday, July 27th at 2:00 PM, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Rev. Benson Kennedy officiating.

The family will receive visitors and friends on Thursday, July 26 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

 Jimmy Gordon Beasley 02/11/1958 -7/27/2007

 Funeral services for Jimmy Beasley, 49, of Aransas Pass, formerly of Jacksonville, will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, August 1, 2007 in the Autry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Smith and Rev. Philip Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Meador Cemetery.

Mr. Beasley died Friday, July 27, 2007 in Corpus Christi.  He was born February 11, 1958 in Overton.

He was an air traffic controller, realtor, rural mail carrier, and a gunsmith at Kickapoo Trading Post in Frankson.

He was an avid fly-fisherman.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Gordon Beasley.  Survivors include is parents, Allene and Travis Meador of Jacksonville; sons, Jason Beasley and J. T. Beasley; sister, Kimberly McDuff; grandmother Rachel Meador; niece, Brandi DeMarco; nephew, Trent O'Neal and great-nephew, Dylan Ferrell.

Pallbearers include Jeff Horton, Joe Bixler, Doyle Beasley, Paul Galyean David Dennis, and Weldon Lightsey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Taylor, Jay Taylor and Chad Griffin.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm. 

 Collin Jeffrey Carroll 8/1/1985 -7/29/2007

 Funeral services for Collin Carroll, 21, of Rusk have been set for Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Rusk with Rev. Lee Welch and Rev. Jim Goforth officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill cemetery under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.

Mr. Carroll was born in Tyler on August 1, 1985, he died in Liberia on July 29, 2007.

He was a Dental Coordinator with Mercy Ships International, a member of the First Baptist Church in Rusk, a 2003 graduate of Rusk High School, a 2006 graduate of Texas A & M University and a member of the 12th Man Alumni of A & M.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Paul Meador and Arlon Carroll.

Survivors include his parents, Jeff & Sandy Carroll of Rusk; sister, Carmen Carroll of Rusk, sister & brother-in-law, Courtney & Stephen Brooks of Bullard; nephew Jeffrey Carter Brooks; grandmothers Ruth Meador and Loma Carroll both of Rusk.

Visitation will begin on Friday, August 3, 2007 with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM at the First Baptist Church in Rusk.

 Virginia "Ginger" Barber 12/29/1920 -7/29/2007

 Graveside services are scheduled for Virginia Barber, 86, of Jacksonville for Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park with Rev. Michael Lewis officiating.

The family will receive visitors and friends on Tuesday, July 31st from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

 Funeral services are scheduled for Loudene "Mickey" Williamson, 85, of Jacksonville for Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at Autry Funeral Home with Rev. John Cole officiating. Burial will follow the service at Jarratt Cemetery.

The family will receive friends & visitors on Thursday, August 2nd, from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
