Glenda Ann Whited 8/29/1940 -11/26/2006

Funeral services are set for Glenda Whited, 66 of Troup for Wednesday, November 29th at 2:00 PM at Autry Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27th from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Letha Fae Partin Byers 4/30/1918 -11/23/2006

Funeral Services are scheduled for Letha Fae Partin Byers, 88 of Mixon for Saturday, November 25th at Autry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Cummins and Dennis Partin officiating, burial will follow at Mixon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 24th from 6 to 8 PM.

Jim Snoke 2/22/1942 -11/21/2006

Jill & Ralph Lindsey, Joyce & Cecil Bannister & Mandy & Don Lovelady; a brother & sister-in-law, Bill & Claudine Snoke; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren & several nieces & nephews.

Graveside Services are scheduled for "Jeff" House, 46, of Frankston for Tuesday, November 21 at 4:00 PM at Corine Cemetery, Rev. David Hallum will be officiating.

Jeff passed away on Friday in Galveston.

Yvette Caples King 08/20/1973 -11/10/2006

Funeral services for Yvette King, 33, of Rusk are set for Tuesday, November 14, at 10:00 A.M. in the Autry Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Rev. Charles Swilling and Rev. Jim Slocum.  Visitation will begin on Monday, November 13, with family receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM.  Burial will follow in Rocky Springs Cemetery, Dialville.

Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Caroll King; son, Skyler King; daughter, Cheyenne King; parents, Lloyd & Peggy Caples; brothers Terry Capples, Scott Caples, and Chaz Davis.

Duane Allen Redford 7/17/1946 -11/8/2006

Duane Allen Redford, 60, of Jacksonville went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 8, 2006.Services for Mr. Redford will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 2PM under the direction of Autry Funeral Home with Brother Ken McEachern officiating. Burial will follow at Jarratt Cemetery. Duane was born July 17,1946 in Lubbock, TX., to William (Bill) and Nettie Moore Redford. As a youngster growing up in Irving Duane was in Cub Scouts and delivered newspapers as well as working as an Usher at the Irving Theater, he worked at the gun club pulling skeet and was a Caddie at the Golf Course where he began his love for golf which became his hobby. He attended schools in Irving, TX.; he was an undergraduate student for 2 years at Ashworth College for Criminal Justice & Criminal Law in Norcross, GA. . He spent 3 years in the Air force SAC, in Altus, Oklahoma; He was a Corrections Officer for TDCJ, Beto Unit, Tennessee Colony for 20 years with 3 years retirement before returning back to work in 2002.Duane belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Palestine, he was a Shriner, had a Black Belt in Karate, was a member of Beall Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a Clergyman & Sunday School Teacher. Duane was preceded in death by his grandparents and a son Jamie in 1969.He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law Jasie & Mark Sewell, Tennessee Colony; daughter, Patricia San Miguel, Palestine; son, Patrick Redford, Neches; Step-son, Leroy Vicencio, Bryan, TX.; step-daughter, Linda Alvarez, Jacksonville; 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; father & mother; Will Tom and Nettie Redford, Jacksonville; brother & sister-in-law Tommy & Naomi Redford, Jacksonville; aunts, uncles, nieces , nephews, cousins and many friends. Pallbearers will be Randy Bowden, Michael Leonard, Brent Taylor, Johnda Wallace, Charlie Bush & Andy Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be Correction Officers of TDCJ, Beto Unit, Tennessee Colony. Visitation will begin Friday, November 10th with family receiving visitors from 6 to 8 PM at Autry Funeral Home. Joseph Ben Davis 5/31/1930 -11/6/2006

Services for Joe Ben Davis, 76 of Jacksonville are scheduled for Thursday, November 9th at 10 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Rob Godwin presiding.  Burial will follow the service at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Oweta Marie Murphy 01/16/1919 -12/28/2006

 Services are scheduled for Oweta Murphy, 87 of Jacksonville for Sunday, December 31, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Autry Funeral Home Chapel with Brett Winters & Lee Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow at McDonald Cemetery, New Summerfield.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 30th with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
 

Gerald D. Wood 07/28/1939 -12/27/2006

Funeral services for Gerald D. Wood, 67, of Jacksonville have been set for Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. in the Autry Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James D. Havard and Rev. Dr. Bruce Webb officiating.  Masonic graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. at Pine Prairie Cemetery in Huntsville.  Visitation will begin on Friday, December 29th with family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  

Mr. Wood was born on July 28, 1939 in Huntsville, Texas.  He received a Bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and his Master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.  He retired from the Texas Department of Corrections – Smith County Adult Probation.  He was Past Master of Cherokee Lodge 680, a member of the Sharon Temple, Scottish Rite, Gideon International, Texas Peace Officers Reserve, Eastern Star, and a member of Central Baptist Church.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Wood and Mattie Wood; and brothers, Wayne Wood and Rob Wood.  

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Donna Gaylene & Mark Jones of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Doyle Ray & Marnie Wood of Montalba; grandchildren, Jacob Tyler Jones, Aaron Douglas Jones, Samantha Teal Wood, Ethan Tolvis Wood; sister, Sue Ann Rushing of Huntsville; and several nieces & nephews.  

Pallbearers will be Kyle W. Wood, Billy B. Wilson, Wesley Wilson, Chase Wood, Gerald Arnold, and David Dennis. Donations may be made to

Edith Echols Harrison 09/14/1916 -12/26/2006

Funeral services for Edith E. Harrison have been set for Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Dr. Faulk Landrum officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk.  Visitation will begin on Friday, December 29, with family receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Harrison was a retired teacher with 31 years service in public schools.  She taught two years in Reklaw, two years in Rusk, one year in Troup, and 26 years in Jacksonville.  She was a member at the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.  She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Retired School Personnel.  She loved to travel, read, and enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. R. "Dub" Harrison Jr.; brothers, Warren Merdith Echols, Henry Marvin Echols; and sisters, Lenora Echols Jones, Ruth Echols Braswell, and Pauline Echols Guynn.

Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, William T. "Bill" and Michele Harrison; son, Warren A. "Tony" Harrison; son and daughter-in-law Dr. Waun Ross and Pam Harrison; son and daughter-in-law Leslie Keith and Donna Harrison; seven grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Darrell Porter 02/05/1940 -12/25/2006

Memorial services for Darrell Porter are scheduled for Thursday, December 28, at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.  A private family graveside will be held at Still Waters Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Porter was a Pharmacist and had Porter Pharmacy in Jacksonville for 33 years.  He was a private pilot for 40 years, a Big Game Hunter, an Avid Golfer, a 32nd Degree Mason, and Scottish Rite.

He is survived by his wife, Trisha Porter; daughter, Angela Porter Lisenby; sons, Blake Porter, Curt and Bryan, and Blair Lisenby; sister, Faye McAdams; brother, Harold Porter; and several nieces and nephews.

Bryan "Hobbs" Atwood  02/04/1915 -12/20/2006

Funeral services for Bryan "Hobbs" Atwood are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 22 at the First Baptist Church in Frankston.  Burial will follow in the Frankston City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the church.
 

Ollie Dean Brunson 9/20/1929 -12/15/2006

 Ollie Dean Brunson, 77, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Friday, December 15,  2006.  She has gone ahead to wait for her beloved husband of 60 years, Dr. Harold Brunson.  

Born on September 20, 1929 in Soso, Mississippi to Ollie F. & Norma Parker, Ollie Dean was one of three children.  Ollie Dean loved music, graduating from Jacksonville Baptist College and doing graduate work in music at the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a Church Organist for over 55 years, a  home maker and a member of Hill Creek Baptist Church, Whitehouse, Texas. 

Services are scheduled for Monday, December 18, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Texas with Dr. Hal Brunson, Dr. Tony Cleaver and Dr. James Blaylock officiating.  Interment will be in Still Waters Memorial Gardens under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.

Survived by her husband,  Dr. Harold Brunson, son & daughter-in-law, Dr. Hal and Judy Brunson of Carrollton, daughter & son-in-law Sonia & Mike Peterson of Tyler;  Grandchildren, Trey Brunson,  Matthew Brunson, Shane and wife  Tish McGuire, Chelsea Peterson, Charlie Peterson and a step-grandchild, Kristen Condra of Marietta, Georgia and 2 brothers; Bill Parker & Larry Parker both of Laurel, Mississippi.   

Mary Alice Choate 3/25/1913 -12/11/2006 Services are scheduled for Mary Alice Choate, 93 of Jacksonville for Thursday, December 14 at 10:00 AM in the Autry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jess Slider, Rev. Waymon Claiborne & Rev. Ernest Higginbotham officiating.  Burial will be in Pierces Chapel Cemetery.
