The Sanderson Times was published weekly on Fridays.  May 22, 1942 would be the Friday date of this issue since it refers to events of the week of May 20, 1932 which was the Friday publication date of the paper in that year.  Thus, since Charles died "Wednesday of last week" and his funeral was on Friday of that week, that must have been May 15.  So he died in San Antonio on Wednesday, May 13, 1942.
