There was a husband and wife there but their penmanship defies description.
Ella Frantzen Novian was my grandmother. She was a kind, hardworking, thoughtful, generous,
caring and loving person. She was the strength that kept her family together. When she died her
family seemed to loose its togetherness.
When I was 12 years old I spent two weeks at their farm. She said I was the only grandchild who
actually would spend the night. The others wanted to go home the same Day they arrived. I had
a wonderful time there those two weeks. I even wrote my Mother asking if I could stay there permanently.
Of course I wasn't allowed to do this.
I had told my grandmother that I collected trinkets that were acquired from the penny bubble gum
machine. For my birthday that year she sent me a whole sack of trinkets. I knew she had to stand
there at that machine putting pennies in it to get that amount. She also sent me material to make a
skirt with. She died a month later.
