HUMAN
I only have one guy who was in
Gillespie County. Charles HUMAN was
brother of my 2nd great grandmother
and born about 1817 in Roane
or Morgan County TN. Along about
1836/37 he went to Texas.
By the 1860 census, he had settled
in Gillespie County.
The 1860 census lists Charles HUMAN, a 42 year old farmer born
in Tennessee. He has real estate valued at $200,
personal property valued at
$250 and is living alone.
Data from the Texas General Land Office,
Abstracts of all original Texas
Land Titles comprising Grants and Locations
indicates that
"Chas. HUMAN" received a land
grant of 160 acres in Bexar District,
Gillespie County, certificate
# 116. At this time I do not know exactly
when the grant was issued but
the Patent was dated 15 May 1867.
Generally a person had to live on the land for three years and make
some improvements after the certificate
and before the Patent was issued.
This grant was a "Third Class Headright Grant" issued to persons who
arrived in Texas between 1 Oct 1837 and 1 Jan 1840, so he was
definitely a citizen of the Republic of Texas.
The 1870 census for the Perdenales
Settlement in Gillespie County lists
Charles HUMAN, a 52 year old man living
with Espar DANZ and family.
No occupation, place of birth
or real estate value are listed but it is
indicated that the value of his personal
estate is $200.
I guess he must have died before the
1880 census was enumerated, since I
haven't found him on any census for
that year. I sure would like to know
more about this guy - like what happened
to the land he was granted,
was he ever married and when
he died.

KRUSE - DIEGMANN
Johann Heinrich
Kruse [Henry] born Nov. 11, 1821 in Heuthen, Prussia
Germany and married Feb. 8, 1847 in
Heuthen, Prussia Germany to Maria
Franziska Diegmann. She was born April
15, 1823 in Heuthen, Prussia
Germany. His parents were Johannes
Kruse and Dorothey Hey. Franziska's
parents were Johannis Diegmann and
Katharina Wilhelm.
I have the children also incase you
need more data. I have this line
back to 1600s in Heuthen, Germany.
They records were in the Catholic
church there. We have had several cousin
visit Heuthen and stay in the
home of the Kruse family who still
live there. The website is
http://www.eichsfeld-net.de/heuthen/ . It is a nice little town about
ten miles behind the old iron curtain
and in the East German section of
Germany. A Kruse cousin has this site.
I don't know if you want to use
it as a connection or not. It might
be good for the Gillespie County
site since more of the Kruse family
stayed there.
