ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CEMETERY
The following is a quote taken from the book "75th
Year Jubilee of St. Mary's Parish, Fredericksburg, Texas"

"Until this time the parish was without its own cemetery.
For this reason on 10 March 1860 Father Alto paid $5.00 for ten acres
of land a mile from the city for that purpose. One acre was fenced
and the other nine acres lay unused until in 1903 they were, unfortunately,
sold for $100.00. The deed, prepared on 02 July 1903,
contained a special passage that concerned the easement to the cemetery
and it read as follows: "DESCRIPTION: All one fourth or
ten acre lot No. 333 as the same is known and destinated on the map of
the said town of Fredericksburg and neighborhood containing about 10
acres of land, except a portion out of the Northeast corner of said lot
now separately enclosed by a stone fence which encloses the graves on
said lot; conditioned, however, that the said John Rosenbach, his heirs
and assigns, shall keep in repair the fence and gate around the graves
above mentioned and shall at all times grant free and undisturbed ingress
and egress from the street or public road over lands now owned by him
to the spot containing the graves and herein reserved, to all parties
wishing to visit said spot; to have and to hold etc. Vol. 10 pages 30-31.
Dated July 2, 1903."
Please note: This book has many names of Gillespie County Founders..I
bought it in Fredericksburg at a book shop there.
I transcribed the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery Records
from the Gillespian published by the Fredricksburg Genealogical
Society.. Other information was taken from Obituaries published
in the "Frederickburg Standard-Radio Post" I have
left out dates published in the Gillespian that may be for living
persons. If you know that these persons are in fact no longer living
