My name is John Harris Hurtt and I'm looking for any information concerning my Grandfather, (mother's father), Lewis Goodlow HARRIS. He was born in 1895 or '96, and I don't know if he was born in Gonzales County or not, but I do know he worked for the railroad there, and had relatives there. C.J. McCLOUD, f. 27, AL (Catherine Jane McCloud/McLEOD) listed in 1860 Texas Census, Gonzales Co. as living with W.H. McKELLAR 24; AL, Mary C. McKellar 20, GA; & H.W. McKellar in household 612. Household 613 lists L.M. McKellar 28 (NC), Annie McKellar 28 (Fla), Walter 2, Henritta 2/12 & P. McKellar 27 (NC). Mrs. Catherine Jane McLeod b. about 1833, Al married my 3-great g.father on 17 Dec 1861. I was told that her name was McKellar or McLeod (McCloud). If the above C.J. McCloud is her, it would explain that her maiden name was McKellar and had married a McCloud (McLeod).

Looking any for any family members of a John C. COOPER and Emily Ann (maiden name unk). They had 10 children born from 1853-1875?. Their children were - W.J. Cooper>Rachel my GGM>John J.>Mary>Sarah Louise> Joseph Edward (Eward), Elizabeth Ann these two were twins.>Thomas W.>Lillie May and George W. I know that George W. I was born and raised in Gonzales and graduated from Gonzales High School. My father was Otto WENDT and my mother was Ernestine Wendt. I collect badges of Texas sheriff departments and was looking for a badge from Gonzales county sheriffs office. I hope you can help.
