I am looking for any information on the Eduardo ESTRADA family that settled in Gonzales, Texas around 1900. According to the 1920 cenus, they lived on St. John street. My interest is their connection if any to the Pablo GONZALES family. I understand that both families came from Mexico. I am curious as to where in Mexico. Pablo's wife's surname was LOSOYA, first name Masima. Thanks.

I am beginning search for MAHAN family in Gonzales/Nixon, Texas area. My grandfather was Wiley Wilders Mahan (b.9/17/1872 d. 6/14/1951); married to Eldora BADGETT (b.1877 d.1949). They had three children: Fred Nathan Mahan (my dad) (b.5/21/09 d.11/10/79) married to Lovella Louise RATLIFF (my mother); Maggie Ethyl Mahan (b.9/4/1895 d. 8/17/1977) married Henry H. HAYNIE; and Myrtle Jane (?) Mahan (b.1/27/1903 d. 11/13/1985. The above families moved to San Antonio, Texas, where they lived probably since the 1930's and most are buried in either San Jose Cemetery (Mahan) or Mission Park South (Ratliff). I have some information for my grandmother's side of the family but nothing of the ancestry for the Mahan family before my grandfather. It is my understanding that my grandfather's family originally came from Tennessee. Any information you might have will be appreciated. Thanks for your help. Barbara J. Powers

William Carl SCHUTZ, 1823 - ??? (immigration (1839?) Any info?); Susan Schutz, 11/16/1835 - 5/15/1930 (birth records?; maiden name? any info?); August Schutz, ??? - ???; Willie Schutz, 8/8/1866 - 1/29/1893; Iona Schultz, 8/23/1883 - 4/3/1949, (maiden name? marriage records?); John Carl Schultz, 2/9/1878 - 2/5 1945, (property records?). I am looking for marriage records (dates, locations, maiden names) for these people. The birth locations would also be helpful, especially the older ones from Germany - may be impossible, though. I need help with Iona Schultz. She was born a MUECKE in Caldwell County. She married John Carl Schultz in 1899 with the name NAUSE and one child. I had understood she had married a SCOGGINS (a cousin to her) and had a child (Lenore). This would have made her awfully young. Any help with this person would be appreciated. One other name - Vernon Nixon Schultz (son of John Carl and Iona Schultz) was born May 11, 1902 in Gonzales County. This was my grandfather. I understand it was in a small community outside Gonzales near the Guadalupe River that no longer exists. Any info regarding this location would be a huge help. Also, I am looking for property information - who would I contact? More specifically, John Carl Schultz owned the Braches house (near the Runaway Scrape Oak) at Peach Creek in the early 1900's. I am looking for any information regarding the property.Your help is appreciated. John R. Thomas, Austin, TX

I am doing research on BRACHES/McCLURE as part of a project to determine what happened to members of an emigration society from the Solingen area of Germany of which Mr. Braches was one. In doing so I am trying to track down the lives of the emigrants after they arrived in the U. S. Any sources which would point me would be most helpful. Kathryn Grogman
