I am looking for info on my family in Gonzales, Texas . My grandfather's name is Ancieto Recio HERNANDEZ he passed away in March of 1999. His Parent names are Jacinto and Maria Recio Hernandez. I am doing research on Elijah Newt BAKER m Margaret L. Thames & their son was Zeddie Maitland Baker. The Baker Family is buried in Saturn Cem. I found a list of the Baker's buried in Saturn Cem. Carmon ROSS was my great-great grandfather. He married Mary Ann POWER on 3 Aug 1840 in Gonzales County, Texas. They had one child, my great grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Ross, who was born 31 Oct 1843 in Moulton, Lavaca, Texas. He was killed while serving in the US Army in 1845. After his death Mary Ann married Wilson VAN DYKE on 20 Oct 1847. They had three sons. Bounty and Donation Land Grants of Texas 1835-1888 by Thomas Lloyd Miller lists the following: Ross, Carmon Received Bty Wnt 4293 for 640 acres from S War on 14 Sep 1838 for service from 18 May un 18 Nov 1836. I do not have any other information about this man. I would appreciate any information you might have. I do not know where he was buried. There is no cemetery record in either Gonzales of Lavaca Counties. Merle

I am searching for any information on a Martha married name TUTON. She was born about 1842 possibly Arkansas.she married a Charles a Tuton probably about 1858 maybe, as they had a 2 year old son on the 1860 census in Dewitt County. I can find no record of marriage or death, but her youngest 4 children were on the 1880 census as farm laborers in another county. I sent to Dewitt County courthouse and got records for Charles Sr. widow Rebecca. They did own land as Charles Sr was in Texas in 1836. I would be happy with any shred of information. Charles and Marthas daughter married my greatgreat grandfather from Gonzales Archie TALLEY. She was Rebecca Ann Tuton but went by Anne or Anna. Martha is a missing person waiting to be found. I'm trying to find info ab the children of Mary Jane ( ROBERTSON ) and Marion Calhoun REED -- especially their daughter Metta V., b. ca. 1875. She was Metta V(iola), but known as Ola and I believe that she is the Ola who married Arthur Allen McCALL in 1894. The Robertsons and Reeds lived in Gonzales Co., TX. Lynch Terryl EDDY was born 9 Nov.,1831 and married Francis Rebecca GILES in Comfort, TX. He was a physician. His brothers, Richard Baxter Eddy and Camden Ballard Eddy were also a physicians. I believe one or more of the Eddy brothers live in Gonzales Co., TX. Their father was Alexander Eddy, who was born in 1800 in Rockwell, VA. I would like to contact the person who had a query in 2000 on these brothers. His e-mail has expired.
