My father's paternal grandfather lived in Gonzales, Texas at the time of his death. My father and his father are no longer living, so I no longer have anyone in my family that can help me locate these records. I am hoping that you may have some listing that can point me in the right direction. His last name was PIERCE and I think that his first name may have been John or William (but again, I am not sure). I remember that my father once mentioned that he visited his grandfather in the late 1950's or early 1960's and that he died a few years later. I have found an entry on the Texas Death Index for a John W. Pierce in Bexar County with DOD July 10, 1964 and a William Pierce in Bexar County with a DOD Nov. 25, 1964. I wondered if he died in San Antonio and was buried in Gonzales. Any assistance that you can give would be greatly appreciated. Judy P. Trevino, wordnerds@juno.com
