Addition/Correction from Jean Clark Wall:
Looking at my family cemetery info online,
is there a way you can add names to the initials?
And I have a correction.
Clark, T.K (Thomas Kent Clark)
Clark, M.E. (Mayme Elizabeth Clark who d. 9 Nov 1895)
Clark, W.H. (William 'Willie' Henry Clark bro. of M.E.)
Clark, Robert Bell (ok)
Clark, Thomas W. (ok - father of Thos. Kent Clark & Robert Bell Clark and
grandfather of M.E. & W.H.)
Thomas W's wife, Elizabeth Lowe Clark's grave was destroyed when the last
'new' road and fence was put in. She was last grave closest to fence with
son buried between her & husband.
Fanning, Elizabeth Bell Clark (ok)
Fanning, James Gatliff Sr (ok)
Fanning, Frederick Charles (ok)
Fanning, James Gatliff Jr (not DAVIES Gatliff Jr)
Fanning, Elyzebeth (she was Elizabeth Warren Fanning)
Fanning, Mary G. (G=Gilmore)
Wife of Thomas W. Clark - Elizabeth Lowe Clark b.1830 d. 30 Oct 1905.
I am sorry I didn't get a picture of her grave before it was destroyed.
I think it was destroyed many years ago because the road isn't 'new' anymore.
There are footstones and broken stones buried in dirt; someday we will dig
them up. Three of 5 sons of Thomas W. Clark are buried there. Only two
sons to live and/or marry are buried in Nixon City Cemetery.
Something interesting I was told of about 2 yrs ago beginning about 1857
ending about 1870. Fanning's wife was sister to my Thomas W. Clark.
James G. Fanning Sr kept a 2 vol set of diaries; one was mostly of the
Fanning/Clark farm - seems they might have had an experimental farm to
determine what grew best in Rancho. They kept temp. rain, etc. The 2d vol.
was mostly about family and Civil War. The books were for sale on E-Bay.
Someone bought them and gave them to a college. Sad thing is they will not
let me Xerox copies. However, a lady working on stories of Civil War has
given me rough draft copies of most of the pages. I just have to get the
energy to finish. Many local names.
