BARROW, JENNINGS - I am attempting to learn the names of
the parents/ancestors of Mary Ann JENNINGS
who married Seth L. BARROW in Seguin, Guadalupe Co.,
on 2 July 1865.  According to Marriage Records
of Guadalupe Co. which I found online, the marriage
was performed by Bennett Posey.  Seth is the brother of my
great-grandfather Samuel D Sebastian BARROW; both
are sons of Samuel and Elizabeth SMITH BARROW.  Any
clues will be appreciated.  Thank you.

Hello Wanda,

My name is Tammy Gibson.  I would like to thank you for all the time you have put into helping others with their family history.  I live in Arizona and have never had the opportunity to go to Texas and look for my family there.  I have done many hours of searching the internet for my family and because of people like you I have found information on them.
My gg grandfather is Charles Walter.  He was born in Germany Oct 6, 1827.  He lived in Sequin, Texas and started a school there.
I am having a hard time finding his parents names.  I have found his naturalization records from Comal County, but I don't have anything to go on for his parents.  Is there any information that you have or someone else I could talk to to get some inforamtion?  Any help you have would be appreciate.
Thank you again for all you do.

I am looking for the grave of TIMOTHY P. JONES somewhere in Seguin or Guadalupe County, TX.  He was born in ca. 1814 in North Carolina and later moved to Tennessee.  In 1882 he moved to Seguin, TX.  He died October 18, 1904 at the age of 90 in Seguin.

I will greatly appreciate having you check the cemetery record books to see where this TIMOTHY P. JONES was buried in.

Again, thank you for the help.

SURNAMES:   WARD,  HALL

QUERY:I am tracing my WARD and HALL family roots.   Many of my HALL ancesters, including my 4XGreatGrandmother Margaret Nance HALL (widow of Fleming HALL, Robt "Brazos" Hall's first cousin),
moved from Tippah Co., Mississippi and settled first in Gonzales Co. She passed in 1858 leaving a probated will there naming my 3XGreatGrandmother Mary Ann B. WARD, her daughter.
The HALL family appeared to move...or perhaps county lines changed...to Guadalupe Co. before 1870. I am now attempting to trace my 2XGreatGrandfather Laurel L. WARD's brother Henry T."H.T." WARD
who joined his HALL cousins in TEXAS after the Civil WAR. These were Mary Ann HALL WARD's children.
Henry or "H.T." married wife #2 Mary LAW in Guadelupe  Co TX in 1880 (there were 3 children from his first marriage on the 1880 census)

Ward, H. T. to Mary J. Law by Isaac Sellers, Minister  - May 09 1880

Henry died leaving land in probate in 1916 in Guadelupe Co.

Guadalupe Co., TX - Probate: Index to Probate 1912-1916
Ward, H. T. - deceased  Nov 04 1916  2095

This is info I retrieved off this wonderful county
site.

I am hoping this may give me more clues in tracing my WARD family.   I have printed out some forms from the Guadelupe Co.government website and am wonder what the best way
to obtain the marrigae cert and the probate minutes would be.  I'm a newbie with Texas records and every state and county has different rules. These forms appear to be
for modern day requests.  If anyone can point me in the right direction in  getting Henry's marriage cert and the probate records  I would appreciate it.
 Thanks, Melissa

Dreyer- Neddenriep-Klein

Does anyone have any information on the Dreyers and Neddenrieps from Hanover
who moved to California and Nevada? How did Catherina Dreyer meet Henry
Neddenriep?

Mamma always said that her father, Reno Klein, was named for Reno, Nevada.
Reno's mother, Sophie Dreyer Klein, had a sister in Reno and wrote back
saying how wonderful it was, so Sophie Dreyer Klein named my grandfather
Reno. They pronounced it Ray-no. After digging thru old family notes I
discovered Katrina Dreyer married a Neddenriep!

A search of the census records shows:

1900 Census - Alpine California
Henry Neddenriep b 1840 + Catherina b. 1851
All children born in California:
Mary b. 1874
Fritz b. 1879
Maggie b. 1881
Henry b. 1882
Katie b. 1886
Rosa b. 1888
Sadie b. 1892
Tillie b. 1894

My Dreyers are:
1880 Census - Cibola Valley, Guadalupe, TX
Fredric Dreyer  <1825>PRUSSIA Self
Margarethe Dreyer <1846>PRUSSIA Wife
Meta Dreyer <1865>PRUSSIA Daughter
Sophie Dreyer  <1867>PRUSSIA Daughter
Herrmann F. Dreyer <1848>PRUSSIA Son
Matilde Dreyer  <1853>PRUSSIA Daughter-in-law
Frieda Dreyer  <1875>Missouri Granddaughter
(what were they doing in Missouri?)
Matilde Dreyer  <1877>Texas Granddaughter

I joined the Alpine County mailing list and located someone who knew them,
and have spoken to a Neddenriep cousin in California. He says 3 cousins came
to San Francisco in 1868, another in 1872, by ship via the Panama Canal.
;-)

I have old photos of a family in Nevada and California if you would like to
see them.

Thanks for any help,

Seeking descendants of my GG Grandparents, Rev. David Evans Thompson (15 Aug 1812 - 29 Jul 1892) and Elizabeth Ann Bridges (11 Apr 1815- 1890).
Contact: Barbara Smith  <BSmith2830@aol.com>

Elizabeth was a member of the first graduating class of Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia in 1842.  Wesleyan College was the first college for women in the world. On August 3, 1843, Elizabeth married Rev. David Thompson in Jefferson County, Georgia.  The first of their seven children, Sarah F., was born in about 1844 in Georgia.  In 1844, David, Elizabeth and their infant daughter moved to Seguin, Guadalupe County, Texas where David had been appointed to be the Methodist Minister/Missionary.  They established the first church in Seguin and also established the first school.  Until the church building was completed in 1846, church services were held in the homes of the parishioners.  The school was in a three room adobe building.  One room was devoted to the school and the small family lived in the other two.On arriving in Seguin, the Thompsons purchased farm land and grew cotton with slave labor.
During the Civil War, David was largely absent.  One source says he joined the Confederate Army but I can't find any supporting documentation for that.  Other sources say he was circuit riding.  I lean more toward the circuit riding theory.  Whatever the reason, Elizabeth was home caring for the kids, running the church, running the school, running the plantation.  She grew cotton which she shipped to Mexico.  She established and operated a factory making homespun cloth and sold uniforms to the Confederate Army.  At various times she had as many as 1000 head of cattle which she sold to the Confederate government or sent to Kansas or Mexico.  She also loaned money to the Confederacy.
Elizabeth died in 1890 and is buried in the San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin next to David.

Guten Tag, Wanda !

I am a family researcher from Germany.
One of my direct ancestors is Johann Nicolaus ULLRICH from Lindenau / Meiningen born ab.1810
According to the fact that Lindenau was quite small village with approx. 150 inhabitants at that time it looks quite probable that he is direct relative (brother) to your George ULLRICH born 1813

I did not start to research on Johann Nicolaus ULRRICH yet. He was NOT married to Marthe Jacobine MAHR - but they had child Karl Friedrich MAHR born 1838, my greatgrandfather. Maybe this fact looks quite unbelievable.
But in fact my greatgrandfather was born 115 years before my birth :-)

I will start to research on Johann Nicolaus ULLRICH maybe in October and I would be glad to send to you any results if I would have success in it.

Best regards
