- BENSON posted
by Linda Swanson on Monday, February 10,

- I am searching for descendants of Earl E. BENSON who died on 22
Feb 1991 in Cibolo, Guadalupe, TX. He was born 5 Nov 1923. His wife's
name is Barbara and he had 4 children. If I have the correct Earl E.
BENSON, he was born in Duluth, Minnesota but lived for many years in
Springfield, MA and was a Trust Officer in a bank. He had been a Lt.
Col. in the Armed Forces.I have checked for information on him at 2
funeral homes in Seguin and 1 in Universal City, TX. None of them
handled the funeral arrangements. A Barbara Benson is listed in the
Internet directory in Austin,TX but it is no longer a working number. I
would love to be in contact with either his widow or his children, as
Earl was a 2nd cousin to my mother and he has only 3 2nd cousins living
in the USA. His paternal grandmother and my mother's maternal
grandfather were siblings. I have information on many of his Norwegian
counterparts but have had no luck finding this BENSON family. Can
anyone help me out ! here? I would appreciate any information that you
can provide.

- DUNN posted by Fred Dunn on Thursday, February 27, 2003
- Green Dunn and his family farmed in what i believe to be the
southeast corner of Guadalupe County. The rest of Green's siblings all
were in the area where Wilson, Gonzales, and Guadalupe Counties meet.
Some were in Rancho (Nixon), Some were between stockdale and Nixon, and
Green was in Guadalupe. I have no clue as yet as to where he is buried
but believe that the 1910 census and proximity to his family leave him
in Southeast Guadalupe county. In both the 1910 and 1900 census they
were living in (J)Pct1 and the 1900 census indicated that he was living
of of Dewville Road, south of the river (I am Assuming the Guadalupe
river). Since Dewville (the city) is in Gonzales county I was thinking
that FM1117 may be the dewville road they are referring to. On the
county map I see some cemeteries around there, Capote, Jahns, and
Matthies cemeteries, but I have been unable to find any listings of
those particular cemeteries. For all I know they may even be buried in
Seguin but I tend to think not. I am hoping that you can assist me in
find the last of the five brothers Dunn that came to Texas with their
Mother Margaret in 1866 from Alabama after their father was killed. I
am the Great-Grandson of Green's older brother Charles Henry Dunn who
is interred in the Rancho cemetery in Nixon. I will try and take this
friday off from work to make a runn at the cemeteries I listed above.
There was also a Greenberry Dunn that lived on River Road but by his
census info (he and his parents were from Georgia and his birthdate is
wrong) I don't believe that is him but I am Copying Jack Dunn to see
whether he has any comments on this. Thanks in advance, Fred Dunn
