HAMLIN NORTH CEMETERY
How To Get There: Years ago it was simply "North Cemetery" but now few people even know it exists.
From the Hamlin, Texas City limits go approximately one mile North on US Highway 83. Just as you pass a large
metal building on the right of the highway, look due east toward a grove of small mesquite trees about 300 yards
away and you might see some of the headstones. Watch closely and you will see an old metal gate at the edge of
the right-of-way that is across the narrow access road leading directly East to the old cemetery. Presumably the
county stopped maintaining the road after burials were no longer made at this site. Perhaps there is another reason.
At any rate the road is heavily overgrown and I really hate to think what the cemetery must look like. Sorry I have
no picture of the cemetery: however David Casey provided several headstone pictures that might be of interest.
He
did indicate there were only 20 or 30 visable graves.

Here are 4 pictures of headstones at Hamlin North Cemetery

There is no burial list for this cemetery; however, there is a look up volunteer. Please go to the Look-up Volunteer page which you will find in the Site Index.
