Comments: Migration Trail of Barkley Moorman Ballard 1802- born Grayson Co VA 1821- 1833 McNairy Co TN - Married there 1830 McNairy Co TN - Census 1834 - settled near Clarksville, Red River Co TX on land he received as Bounty - He was awarded a League & Labor of land in Lamar Co for service in the TX Rev. He served from 28 Apr 1838-15 Oct 1841. 1836-1849- lived Red River & Lamar Co's TX owned land that straddled the county line between the two counties 1850 - Henderson Co TX Census in that portion that was actually in Kaufman County *Land was located 11 miles east of Kaufman on headwaters of Cedar Creek, next to the G W Rader survey. He also owned land that straddled the Kaufman-Van Zandt Co line 1853 - he was awarded 304 acres for service in TX-Mex War \ he served as Capt in Co D 3rd Reg TX Mounted Volunteers. 1855-1859 - Kaufman County Tax Records 1860 - Atascosa Co TX census he patented 304 acres in VZ Co to E C Tinnin and moved to south TX. 1862 - Bee County Sheriff - Bee Co CSA Militia 1865-1867 - Kaufman Co Tax Records 1870 - Gonzales Co TX Census 1874 - 1878- lived Kaufman Co TX
