Comments:William came to TX in 1838 with a new wife (name unknown) and he bought 320 acres of land in Sabine County on 24 Dec 1839, next to land of John Weatherford. William owned Original Kaufman County Land Abstract# 97 for 320 acres. The land was once part of Henderson County and he is listed a as a resident on the 1846 Henderson County Tax rolls. He is on the 1850 Henderson County Census (which was a part of Kaufman County, but was enumerated incorrectly). He is on the 1860 & 1870 Kaufman County Censuses. Martha Jane Peters had a son by her first marriage - David Mitchell Weatherford Jr, known as "DM". Born 9 Sept 1843 Clay Co MO - died 12 Mar 1878 Kaufman Co TX, buried Love Family. he married Eliza Jane STEPHENSON Love & they had a son, D M Weatherford III (known as Temple ) born 1 Apr 1867. |
