The Charter Meeting of the Boerne Area Historic Preservation Society
was held in the home of Mrs. Edgar (Ruby) Bergmann on December 9, 1970. The

The purpose for which this Society is formed is to engage in and encourage the
preservation of the natural beauty of the community and of historical
buildings, objects and places; thus keeping legible the history of the Boerne
area, to the end that knowledge of the rich historic and inherited community
values may be more widely appreciated and not be lost.
Today, the BAHPS has a membership of one hundred sixty men and women. The Kuhlmann-King Historical House, a restored residence located off Blanco Street is on display by the organization to show visitors the collection of antique furniture, clothing and other period items such as utensils, dishes, clothes, pottery, linens, toys, dolls, porcelain, quilts, etc.

The Archives in the Historical House officially opened in 1971 with some old
newspapers, donated pictures and family histories. These growing files were
moved to the Boerne Public Library where they share a room with the
Genealogical Society collection of books and the
Membership is open to all persons who satisfy the annual dues requirement of $15.00 per person; or $20.00 per couple; Donations are tax deductible. Meetings are held monthy except July, August and December. The meetings are open to all. Please join us at the next meeting.
