MARY ARKISON 1-5-1926 - 5/31/2006
Mary Arkison, a native Texan was born January 5, 1926 in Buffalo, Texas to Letty
and Jesse Colwell, a middle child in a family of eleven children. In 1946 she
married Owen Arkison and they resided in the Galveston, Texas area where they
raised their family eventually moving farther inland to the Dallas area. Mary
was residing in Dallas at the time of her death. There is a gathering of friends
and family on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the home of her daughter, Cathy Beavers,
funeral services on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at 2 PM at Bartley funeral Home, Grand
Saline, Texas.
She is survived by her four children, Deborah Layman and husband David of
Carthage, Missouri, Terry Blend of Plano, Texas, Cathy Beavers of Dallas, Texas
and Owen Arkison and wife Karen of Albany, New York; five grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren, three sisters, one brother and countless friends and
extended family. Mary was preceded in death by her grandson Steven Beavers and
husband Owen Arkison.
Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
