Hi! My grandmother's grandfather was supposed to be the Sheriff of Brady, TX in the 1870s. Where can I look to find out if this is true?
He is listed with his wife and some of his
children
on the 1880 Federal
Census in Comanche County, TX. The
microfilm
info is: T9 #1297 1880
Census TX, Comanche. The Eberhart family
is in the 29th Enumeration
District, 2nd Precinct, page 75.
In our family history, their son, James Thornton
Eberhart was b. in 1860
in Dallas County, MO (James is on the 1860
Federal
Census in Dallas
County, MO) and we think he died in 1880 in
Brownwood,
TX. John N. Eberhart (of PA) and Delilah Ellanorah
Payne (of VA) were
married in 1850 and lived in the 1850s and 1860s
in Dallas County, MO.
Then they moved to TX in the 1870s. Their
youngest child Rosa Isabelle
Eberhart was supposed to be born June 02, 1876
in Brady, TX (but she is
not on the 1880 Comanche County, TX federal
census).
Then they moved to Mason County, WA in the 1880s
and show up on an 1889
Mason County Census in Washington Territory.
Do you have any leads or ideas for me?
Thank you very much, Edith "Edie"

I am looking for parents of William BRADFORD, supposedly they died while he was an infant (in Al?) and was raised by Lem & Susan WILSON of McCulloch Co., Tx. Also on information on Lem and Susan.
Dorssie WHITE's parents were Dorset Malcomb WHITE and Virginia (Jeannie) A. (CHAMBERLAIN?) WHITE. Who is Virginia?
How did Dorset die? Two stories: 1.
He
witnessed a gang hanging and was
shot. 2. He was shot by horse thieves.
Thanks Dan.
