Jacob Riley Young served
in the Confederate forces during the War between the States. He served
for a short time and then came home for illness purposes. Then, he
served again for the Confederacy. He
drew a Confederate pension benefit from Texas. He is buried in Bosley

Richard 'Spencer'
Heath (1891-1957) born 23 March 1891 in
Mineral Wells, TX . He was the firstborn of Walter Lee Heath (1868-1925)
and his wife Frances 'Fannie' Caroline Price (1874-1955) of Mineral Wells.
Richard 'Spencer' Heath married in 1912 Bertha Elfrieda Dora Ziebell who
had immigrated from Germany and was working as a Harvey
Girl. They began
their marriage in Mineral Wells.
They had five children: William Lee Heath (1914-1994), Daisy
Grace Heath (1915-1985), Richard Spencer Heath Jr (1917-2000), Ruby Agnes
Heath (1920-2001), Charley Stuart Heath (1923). They left Mineral Wells
and lived in San Antonio, Morenci, AZ, Phoenix, AZ. and divorced 1924.
Richard 'Spencer' Heath married 2nd Adabelle Coon (1897-1978) who was
born in Kaufman, TX. Richard Spencer Heath is buried in Riverside County
CA, San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. Donated

Nina Belle Kay was born in March 1877 in
Palo Pinto, Texas. Nina Belle Kay's father was J. Thomas Kay and was
born in South Carolina. Her mother's name was Macilla, and she was born
in Mississippi. Nina Belle Kay married Thomas P. Gore who was born
as "Governor Thomas Pryor Gore" on December 10, 1870 in Walthall, Sumner
County, Mississippi. One of their children, Nina S. Gore, was born in
Lawton, Comanche

SLAUGHTER, GEORGE MORGAN (1862-1915). George Morgan Slaughter,
eldest son of Cynthia Ann (Jowell) and Christopher Columbus Slaughter, qv
was born on November 2, 1862, in a log cabin on his father's Palo Pinto
ranch. The family moved to Dallas when he was eleven. After preparatory
school in Dallas he graduated from a military school in North Carolina before
starting work on his father's newly acquired West Texas ranches. He became
the principal administrator of the cattle empire owned by his family in
West Texas. In 1884 Slaughter became a director of the Running Water Land
and Cattle Company, organized by his father, and lived in a dugout qv west
of Plainview. He was made ranch manager in 1890 and married Alice Louise
Donohoo in 1893. They had four children. After his father bought and leased
a half million acres, including 250,000 acres in Cochran and Hockley counties,
Slaughter assumed management of what became the Lazy S Ranch; he moved to
Roswell, New Mexico, in 1900 for better control of the extended holdings.
A large alfalfa farm near Roswell became the Slaughter Hereford Home, a
model breeding farm, under his direction. Slaughter also established the
American National Bank in Roswell and participate in the Panhandle Stockmen's
Association, whose annual meeting he hosted at Roswell in 1906. He was a
Mason and belonged to the Albuquerque Temple. Slaughter died on July 15,
1915, and was buried in Roswell.
