Dock Sanford

Funeral Services for DOCK SANFORD, 55,  of Center were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in Mangum Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. J. C. Dawson and the Rev. Kenneth Vernor officiated.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park at Center.  He died at 12:06 a.m. Tuesday March 25 in Shelby General Hospital following a lengthy illness.    Mr. Sanford was born April 24, 1930 in Shelby County, a son of Will Sanford and Annie Smith Sanford.  He had attended Center High School and served in World War II.  She was Sales Coodinator for Holley Farms at Center.  Survivors are his wife Bobbie Lovell Sanford, Center, a daughter, Jane Howell of Conroe, tow sisters, Mrs. Gladys Thompson, Center and Mrs. Jim (Willie) Barnett of Longview.  Pallbearers were Clyde Wayne Samford, Billy Lawson, Donnell Parker, Pug Yarborough, George Jones, and Bobby Aheron.

 Lula Mae Samford                                                                                                                                                               Funeral services for LULA MAE SAMFORD, 88, of Tenaha, were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 6, at Mangum Funeral Home in Center.  The Rev. Carl Smith officiated.  Burial followed at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.  Mrs. Samford died Tuesday, March 4, 1997 at Pine Grove Nursing Center.  She was born March 31, 1908.  Mrs. Samford is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Clydeg, and Edwina Samford of Center; three grandchildren, Randall Samford, Jeffrey Samford and Sherry Campbell ; two great-grandchildren, Heaberlyn Campbell and Trevar Campbell; and number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Joe White, Jack Bush, James Samford Wayne Bittick, Joe Pena and Fred Samford. Mrs. Sarah Sanford Dies in Her 92nd Year

Mrs. Sarah Sanford of Paxton, 92 years of age, was found dead in her bed last Monday afternoon at 6 o'clock at the home of her son, Billie Sanford, with whom she made her home.  Mrs. Sanford had lived in Shelby County practically all her life, having come to this county from Tennessee when she was a small girl.  She was known throughout the county, and retained an active interest in affairs up to the time of her death.  Her husband, Mace Sanford, died about ten years ago.  She is survived by six sons, Crit, Buck, Billie Kaufman, and Jim Sanford of Shelby County Lee Sanford of Longview: two daughers, Mrs. Sallie January of Center and Mrs. Mary Holt of Nacogdoches County:six half-brothers, Eli, Alf, Joe, Larry, Jim and Mack Webb of Center: three half sisters: Mrs. A. E. Smith of Orange, Mrs. Mary Panger of Cookville, Mrs. Jennie McDonald of Stockman, and one sister, Mrs. S. E. Butts of Ironosa.  Mrs. Butts is 91 years of age.  Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Tenaha, with Rev. Hughes of the Tenaha Methodist Church in charge.
