IBERIS CEMETERY



How To Get There: From Beltway South (FM 707) in Abilene, Texas, take US Highway 83-84 South one half mile to intesection with County Road 164 (Iberis Cemetery Road South). Turn right (West) on CR 164 and go 1.9 miles to intersection of County Road 165 (Hardwick Road). Turn right (North) on CR 165 and the Cemetery is on the left (West) side of the road.

Located in Taylor County and just south of the Abilene city limits this small cemetery had its beginnings about the end of the 19th century. The oldest headstone that is legible shows a 1913 death. There were certainly burials several years before that time with an acknowledged, unmarked burial of 7 infants and 9 adults. I am confident there were several more of which there is no record.
