Searching for information on the
parents of my grandfather, John A. LEE. John A. LEE was born
in Coosa County, AL, on 24 Feb. 1839, and his wife Mary Ann FLYNN
was born on 17 Mar 1845. They were married in 1861. John A. enlisted
in 1862 and served until the close of the war. He was a private
in Co. B. of the 60 Reg't Alabama Infantry. John A. and Mary
Ann moved to Wood County Texas in 1871. They settled in the Cartwright
Community circa 1873. Their children were: John B., Susie, Mariah,
Cynthia, Julia, Stella, Levi L., Ben F. and Everett Festus (my
grandfather) born in 23 February 1886, in Wood County, TX. My
grandfather was 15 when John A. died in 1902. Mary Flynn LEE
died in 1904 of a broken heart (according to a note among my
father's things). Checking the Coosa County, Alabama Census for
1850 I find Isaiah LEE and Damares LEE and children Mary, Martha,
Rebecca, John (11 years old and born in AL), Joseph, Cinthia,
Levi, Thomas, Solomon, and Cresay. I believe Isaiah and Damares
Lee's eleven-year-old son, John, is my my great grandfather John
A. LEE. I would certainly appreciate any help anyone could give
me. I would also appreciate hearing from any other descendents
of John A. and Mary Ann Flynn Lee. I have located the names of
Mary Ann's parents.
